Sic'embears are you champion dallas from Dallas metropolis?
-
In Houston we have lots of FFA applications does not mean it will get built. Calm down and eat your turkey. I'll always wait for the cranes then jump around! Meow!
Meow? that was funny
-
Is there a Dallas HAIF meetup?
What do you mean? Have we talked a lot more on this sub forum than usual? Lol.

I don't understand where is the crane? Why is it called Rolex Building? Thank god it is time lapsed! LOL thanks keep more coming! Meow.
If I'm not mistaken its called the Rolex building because it is going to be Rolex offices. They already have a pretty big Dallas office in an old 80's office building right next door and they just wanted to have better and more modern offices.

I don't know why people make such a big deal about SA having some of the most beautiful buildings in Texas if when you look at their downtown closely it is a very poor downtown. There isn't even that many buildings to begin with...
I lived there and I was surprised at how the residents of the city really believe that they live in a world class city just because they know that tourists from around the world congregate on the riverwalk. The first day I was on a boat on the riverwalk the tour guide told the boat full of tourists that San Antonio's economy is bigger than Dallas' and that they were closely behind Houston in size.
Either way, believe it or not I enjoyed living there even though I got out as fast as I could and I am glad that they are getting a new tower designed by Pelli.

It up to 30 floors tops out to 49 floors with a crown. The garage is toped out 2 floors underground, 10 above. There will be a garden on top of the garage. On the webcam you can see 5 more buildings under construction. The Marriott Marquis on the right side it top out at 29 floors. On the let hand side you see The Catalyst by Minute Maid Park it will be 28 floors. Rental units that will opened last quarter 2016. Please send some webcams of Dallas.
Lol you can see some here...

I have to agree with Native. I go to DMetropolis to peruse but I HATE their layout and it IS one of the reasons I enjoy this site (and Fort Worth's Page too) as well as SSC..
I wish Dallas would get a site just like this one.
To Native's question:
The tallest U/C is the 33 story Bleu Ciel
&
30 Story Katy Station.
There's some other news I will update on the development thread later.
Sure you can hate the layout and whatnot but it's a very good website nonetheless. It has some of the most informative and well connected members that every once in a while let us know little inside information on projects u/c or in the future.

If you cannot be respectful say off our website.
Ok? I don't think anybody was being disrespectful.

Who ever Sic'EmBears is posted on skyscraperpage.com on The Dallas-Forth developments quotes. "Houston is an example of when architecture catches a venereal disease" on all of his blogs. What a jealous, tasteless, stupid quote. Especially from Dallas. Frank Lloyd Wright did not say that. Makes this person seem stupid.
Nice of you to share it with us?
Either way I looked it up on google and an old Texas Monthly article has that quote printed on it so I don't know maybe he did say it. I'm sorry dude but not everyone loves Houston.

Rent is determined by supply and demand. The new development in Deep Ellum is only being done because market rents are already high - the developers have projected that market rent is high enough to make a profit. Additional supply coming online will LOWER rents.
Didn't know that. Changes my viewpoint entirely.
-
No, no, no. That sort of thing only happens in Houston.
Not trying to argue but that project has been stalled due to the community surrounding it fighting it aggressively.
-
Yea, I've been putting as much as I could on the development thread. Check it out. Feel free to add to it.
The Deep Ellum Towers are already U/C so I've heard. I predict more in the future.
Deep Ellum is gonna be a lot different in a few years after a few more projects. I just don't like the developments targeting only moneyed people.

Those pics from post #2103 are making me extremely jealous. That is a beautiful building and what a great impact its having on its skyline.
-
Either way have any of you guys been up here recently?
Uptown is dense as heck now. It seems like some development is finally spilling over to the east side (Deep Ellum) and Oak Cliff.

With the last three sentences it makes it seem like Mister X was being sarcastic.
I don't think so. He said many other things and in other threads that are simply based on a dislike of Dallas.
-
The same people are still on here making the same insane predictions. Keep that in mind when reading this forum.
I will.
Some people really want Dallas to fail.

H. Ross Perot gave Dallas a severe black eye and ruined it's reputation forever when he lost his bid for the presidency back in 1995. Now when people think of Dallas they think about losers and people who shop at walmart. The Dallas office market is over built. I read on the internet that Dallas is going to suffer through a major economic depression from which it will never recover because there are too many unneeded buildings going up. Especially in uptown. There is doubt that the Mandarin will ever get built there. I also read that the Arlington superbowl will be a failure because it is so far out of town and people visiting there will have to drive too far in the freezing rain. This will ruin Dallas' image on a national level and there will never be another large national event in the DFW metro again. I read that on the internet too. Dallas is jealous of Houston.
Oh my god...
Reading this actually made me lol.
This guy did hard drugs for sure.
I know it's old but I just joined this forum and this thread was interesting enough to read old posts.

New Dallas Suburban/Exurban Development
in Dallas/Fort Worth/Metroplex
Posted
The Dallas core is doing better than ever though. I think Houstonians need to stop thinking that taller always means better. Uptown Dallas is slowly creeping far far north and the development is spilling over into east and west Dallas.
I'm young but in my short life time I noticed how Dallas is so different than what it was when I was growing up in east Dallas. There used to be shootouts and bums all over old east Dallas but now you have developments attracting the similar type of people that uptown does. And they usually don't make it into these forums so it's been a quiet transformation.
