does anybody have any information about the lot north of i-10 between bunker hill & whitte road it's next to the costco/bestbuy/lowes lot and they have torn pretty much everything up. it looks like something big
In this thread discussing a new HEB on the Katy board, someone notes they are putting in another HEB at I10 and Bunker Hill. Scroll down to Costco King's post.

I was looking over the e-brochure and found that they show that the land across from Super Target is going to be a Lowes. Just what we need! 2 Lowes and 2 Home Depots. Why can't we get something useful like a Pappasitos or Olive Garden;) I guess it could be worse. It could be another nail salon or bank...
Lowes may own the land and I've noticed that on the LaCenterra site, but it looks like the current contruction activity is actually some strip center or pad sites on the street frontage. Per the FBCAD, it is one lot, but there were signs up (may still be there) regarding rezoning on that property. Was most likely creating some parcels on Westheimer frontage.
I've heard they are having some trouble getting some restaruants interested in LaCenterra due to lower daytime populations. If they could get more of the office space leased on the 2nd floors it should help drive higher daytime population and visitors to the developement.

I have heard Atlas is back to the drawing board, although my source is a bit sketchy. I hope this isn't true b/c no one is rooting harder for him than am i.
back to the drawing board = redesign? less expensive units?

I haven't heard the news! Whats the scoop on the Eatzi's Site??
Proposed development by Wulfe & Co. called Boulevard Place. Runs all the way from San Felipe to Ambassador Way on Post Oak Blvd

Good memory.
I checked HCAD and it was owned by Exxon Corp back until 1993. The abandoned bank property was Texas National Bank. A company called 755 Post Oak, Inc looks to own the whole corner inlcuding the bank property. It will be nice to have something new on the corner.

I checked it out last night on my way home. It is a new sign that say something like coming soon - Post Oak Corner. Has picture that has a building on it but can't really tell what it is.
That lot and the abanoned bank just to the west of that corner are kind of an eyesore to the area.
Does anyone remember what used to be on this lot @ the SW Corner of Post Oak Blvd and 610 West Loop? There is just a slab left.

Does anyone know what's going up at this intersection? There's a new sign up that says "For Lease".
Are you talking about Post Oak Blvd or South Post Oak?
There is an empty lot on the SW corner of Post Oak Blvd & 610 that has been vacant for at least the past 7 years I've work in the building almost right next door. I think the For Lease sign has been there awhile also.

They have released some tenant names:
"Retailers such as Merle Norman, Cold Stone Creamery, Talbots and The Wine Next Door have already signed on to open stores at the new center.
Meanwhile, White House Black Market, Coldwater Creek, Eddie Bauer, Jos. A. Bank, Berryhill Baja Grill and Ann Taylor Loft are in negotiations to open stores at LaCenterra."LaCenterra tenants

It was a little dark this morning when I left the house, but there is now a construction/environmental fence up around the property and some underground/sewer work has begun. Looked like there was some equipment on the back/south part of the property so it should be underway.

What i don't understand is how groundbreaking starts on the 25th. I drive by almost daily and I don't even see survey markers. My guess is that it's going to be a while.
I was kind of thinking the same thing as I drive by pretty much every day also. There has been some materials that look like brick/siding "samples" out on the Northeast corner of the property near Cinco Ranch Blvd @ 99 for some time. I'll be happy to see some dirt moving.

I would agree that the design at Uptown is a nice concept, but certainly uninspiring. If the shopping center was more enclosed without the parking lots I think it would be a better design. But i will say that overall U.P. is a nice place and people seem to frequent the "hot spots" (like Sushi, Belvedere, and Starbucks).
Montebello and Villa D'Estes are also "respectable" buildings, but certainly not striking. Seems as though the approach for uptown park was very "classic conservatism". I can accept that.
The Great Hizzy: I agree that some of the older buildings (i.e. Winhall which was built in the 60's) has lots of character. But the Inverness and 1111 Post Oak are just TERRIBLE. 1111 Post Oak HAS TO GO!!
With 1200 Post Oak, Montebello, Cosmopolitan, Dominion, etc. it just seems as though Winhall, Inverness, and 1111 Post Oak are on borrowed time.
bcnet: Does the great room only host Landry's functions? The place seems cool and I would look forward to a "hip" happy hour.
The Great Room is available for rent to the public. I assume there will be quite a few Christmas parties there. I believe I read on another post that the Randall Davis kick-off celebration for the condos going up on the James Coney Island site around the corner was held there.
As a side note, they worked on erecting the steel frame building with a plastic/vinal skin for several weeks leading up to Hurricane Rita. On Wednesday before the storm hit, it looked like Houston would be hit directly so they tore the structure down and hauled it off in trucks. On Monday after the storm passed to the east, they had a huge crew putting it back up which only took a few days.

Lastly, what is the "Great Room"? (the "tent" building by the Bently dealership)
The Great Room is a party room/ banquet hall owned by a division of Landry's. I believe they own the whole block of land with the Great Room, the dealership, then their building which is next door.

Good point on the parking. We live about a mile down the road from this site we see it almost every day. Just from driving by the site it does not look large enough for the buildings and adequate parking. It makes for sense now that I see the garages on the plans.

Here is a site for LaCenterra that has quite a bit of info including a nice aerials and plot plans.

Did a little searching and found this picture of Hanna Barberra land in Spring.

I had lunch at JCI yesterday and asked one of the workers how long the restuarant will be open and he said they have been told at least 6 month. I guess it always depends on the number of units sold to get the ball moving.

I always thought they were seperate Businesses did they get bought by Starbuck's?
I believe it was 2003 when they were acquired by Starbucks

These are some nice looking Condos, I can't believe no one talks about these. Take a look at the pictures on the website. These are urban and they are uptown. Does anyone know how old they are?
Per most of the listings on har.com for 2400 McCue it appears it was built around 2002 - 2003.

To see the Orion "site", turn on Asbury Street which is between the strip center with Texadelphia & Los Cucos and a gas station (Texaco?). At the bottom of the hill there is a parking lot with the old sales office. Several months ago there was still a observation type platform you could walk up which overlooked the graded site down near the bayou.
