  1. I remember Alfred's, The Smorgasbord, Panjo's, The Cheese Market, Demeris, Mr.Z's, Minimax, Super X. Then the great Farmer's Market and Ice Haus. There was also a Prince's Hamburgers at the corner of West Belt and Memorial.
  2. I worked at Ari's from May '77 to Aug. '77. I was the dessert "chef", and made the French onion soup, and the garlic bread. Ari had a direct phone line installed from the kitchen to the bar, and we could order whatever we wanted. My favorite waitress was GiGi. Ari would let us have steaks after work, and we would go out to his house on some weekends to work on his property.
  3. I remember the pinball arcade called "Let's Play Games". I used to go play pool, Pachinko and pinball. Then, one day, there was a huge line, and I asked a guy why. He said it was for something called a "video game", and it was called Pong! So, I was intrigued and spent a few bucks playing. Good times.
  4. Does anyone remember Brooke Street Pub that was in Memorial City Mall? Many fond memories. Our after work group from Montgomery Ward used to hang out there many a night. Lunch was usually at Dale's Celebrity café.
  5. I worked there in the summer of '77. Kitchen prep work, and desserts. Ari was a great man to work for. My parents ate there every Friday, until I told them Ari's stepson was spitting in the food.
  6. Ari's Grenouille on memorial, Achille's-next to the Kroger on Memorial, Mississippi Mining Co., Panjo's Pizza on the old West Belt & Memorial, Prince's Hamburgers in the old Town & Country,York Steak House, Alfred's in the old T&C,. Dale's Celebrity Café, in Memorial City mall.
  7. I remember Del Taco on Memorial, back in the late 70's. I think it was between Dairy Ashford and Tully. Excellent cheeseburgers!
  8. I remember "Let's Play Games", the day Pong showed up. "Dales Celebrity Cafe", "York Steakhouse". I worked at Foley's in 1979-80, and Montgomery Ward, 1982-84. The old Theater was one big screen with balcony seats, and a dollar bought you a popcorn, soda and candy! I remember "Let's Play Games", the day Pong showed up.
