I understand the sales office was open this weekend. I would be interested to hear what they had to say if any of you went by.

Didn't go, but they are open Monday through Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5 or by appointment.

I read in the Ocober issue of 002 magazine that prices start at $190s. No wonder there are 800 units if they are that cheap.

WEST FEST RETURNS

On October 15, 2005 the latest incarnation of the Westheimer Street Festival will occur in a four block radius surrounding Westheimer (400 block) and Taft. The event is being called 'WESTFEST COMPRESSED'. The current production team has no relationship with the "Westheimer Street Festival Corporation", although members of the team have previously been involved with the festival in various capacities. Those wishing to learn more should go the current festival's website. In keeping with the desire to return to an earlier an more art-oriented event, the producers have arranged already for a variety of art installations. Inclusion of the Montrose Patriot art vehicle is being taken into consideration. WestFest Compressed will also coincide with the first Annual Free Press Houston Music Awards.

Well sort of, but still pretty exciting that the concept is hitting Westheimer again.

Oh I had a ball. Nice liberal atmosphere, great shops along W 19th, and the weather couldn't have been any better. Glad I went and will definitely go next year. It was meant for me to go to this thing. I heard from someone at the festival that the day before was ok. I took some pictures of the event and you can catch them on a photo essay I did of Houston's west end on SSP. The pics in the Heights are at the end.

Oh yeah, for anyone that went. How was first Saturday?

Looks like I will be going to the festival on Sunday since a friend just reminded me about a wedding I am suppose to be going to today. Question about the festival: Are there any street art markets there, similar to the Yale Street Market?

Hey thanks for the info. Although the Festival on Sunday is an annual event, I probably will not make it. From reading upon both events, I think 1st Saturday is more my vibe. Especially the Yale Street Market. I like the more traditional things like seeing people shop for artwork on stilts under canopies and shopping at one of the many antique boutiques along West 19th. I hate festivals and that is what the thing that takes place on Sunday seems like. The 1st Saturday seems like something exclusive to the Heights and more of a traditional neighborhood event. The New Orleans musicians and artist drew me in too.

Hello. Long time lurker here. I am just trying to find out about info on Heights 1st Saturday and I am trying to find out how active the area is during this time every month. If anybody has any info on how well this monthly event is, please post. Also, what time do the crowds, if there are any, start to show up? Trying to go this weekend. Thanks in advance.
