  1. Check out the post I just made under "Apartments In The Heights?". If you're going to rent, you should check out that community. And yes, I'm still a Realtor so take me with you.
  2. Keep in mind you would still need to pay the Buyer's broker so it is really 1% but a minimum of 4%. A bit misleading - huh? As far as for sale by owners go, research has shown that these usually sell for 15% less than they would have if a Realtor was involved. Therefore you aren't really saving 3% but loosing 12%. Just something to think about...
  3. Hi sunsets, I definitely know of an apartment community you should consider. It is called Cheval and is on Old Katy Road inside loop 610 near the 610/I10 interchange. It would be a hop, skip, and a jump to downtown and the med center. I believe a 2/2 goes for about $1,495 although I think they are running some specials right now. My broker recently was there with a client and came back to the office raving about the amenities. Here's a list from a brochure she brought back: TREASURES INSIDE THE GATES Resort-style pool with infinity edge waterfall 24-hour exercise facility with spinning area and personal trainer Day spa with massage rooms Tea solarium Stand-up tanning booths Landscaped courtyards with fountains Skyline views Al fresco living terraces and gathering lanais Covered outdoor veranda with fireplace, TV and conversation area Yoga and pilates studio Lap pool with water features Extensive clubhouse concierge services Video Library Cafe lounge Business center with conference room Flatscreen TV in clubhouse "living room" Parking garage with remote control access Bicycle storage Gourmet, demonstrator-type kitchen with cafe tables Loft library for reading and board games Game room with billiards, football and shuffleboard Pet friendly Putting Green Tennis court (lighted) Sand volleyball and beach area Additional storage available Ample visitor parking Wi-Fi Hot Spot Wireless Internet in clubhouse and pool area Sophisticated European-eclectic decor Stained concrete floors* Spacious terraces and opera-style balconies* DISTINCTIONS INSIDE YOUR DOOR Custom built-in wine racks Bookshelves Island kitchens* Custom 42" cabinets Designer hardware and fixtures Pendant lighting High-speed Internet Slate backsplash* Intrusion alarms 10 foot ceilings French balcony doors Ceiling fans Track lighting Washer and Dryer Built-in microwaves Side-by-side refrigerators Home office center wi th built-in computer desks* Garden tubs Dual vanities* 2" custom blinds Doesn't that sound amazing?!?! Makes me want to sell my house in the Heights and move there. Of course it would be a bit weird for a Realtor to rent. : P Anyway, you should check it out... If you are looking for a house, I have a 2/1 open right now in the Heights that goes for $1,250. Good luck!
  4. Thanks for the info! My buyers actually decided not to buy the home. The finishing work was SOOOO bad. We are now working with a great builder to build them a custom home in the same area.
  5. I have a client interested in a new home in Garden Oaks that was built by Hyde Park Builders. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of them before. Does anyone have any information/opinions on them? I would REALLY appreciate any and all information ASAP! Thank you!
  6. Hey you can't blame a girl for trying. Honestly, I was just trying to be helpful. He's moving from Iowa and probably doesn't know the area. I am currently looking for a loft for another client, and ran across several that were in his price range. It didn't take but two seconds to send him the link too. Whether he uses me as a Realtor is obviously up to him. I just thought Chris would appreciate the information. I'm not going to apologize for doing what I do really well and am passionate about - helping people find the perfect home. So there !!!!!!!!! Joanne

It is a condo in a historical building right across from a great park. The property has an amazing courtyard with a fountain. Makes me want to sell my house in the Heights and move there!!
