This is good news right?

any potential start date? I'm guessing they wouldn't want the roads ripped up around Super Bowl.
So either start now or wait until next year?

I despise Metro........now build us more rail.
-
Turner doesnt look like he is in any rush to approve this.
-
Wouldn't starting construction in a "relatively cheaper" environment be advantageous to builders? Why build when everybody is building? This way you are first to market when the local economy has rebounded a few years, no?
-
I've always hated that mini power grid right there. No way to relocate? Bury? Bomb?

will Metro itself ever make an announcement on these "potential plans"? They've been pretty quiet in regards to anything new for a while.

I'm not too upset...this should be great news for the uptown & university line connections to downtown.....right?......right?

Is this even something going on the ballot? Construction is scheduled beginning of the year
I vaguely remember Culberson saying if the Houston citizens voted for rail on the next ballot, he would not block it in his district.

geesh. i love how big and out of place it is.
if you build it, they will come.

East Downtown can finally be taken seriously.
Looking forward to what else this brings the area.

Love this new building but the garage next door . . . . not so much. Are there any plans for a face lift of some sort? Vines? Mural? Something?

boutique hotel please.
couple this with the new apartments by the dynamo stadium . . . . change is a comin.

I cant lie....I was impressed.
I take Houston for granted.

interesting. How long do we have to wait for the re-vote?
I wonder if this lawsuit is a nonfactor or whether is can halt progress. I thought the "bus-line" construction was being done a certain way where rail can go on top even after the completion.

i would say the ~10 story is a boutique hotel and the ~30 story is a residential tower.
Pretty nice. Love it.
but......oooohhh what a tangled web of traffic we weave

I actually think the 90A line is a good place to start. Sugar land/Missouri City/Richmond/Rosenberg/Alief commuters will use this. Freeing up traffic on 59(69) north in the morning and on 59(69) south in the evening. Relieving some pain around 610/Galleria and the downtown 45/59/288 merger during those same times as well.
Just my guess though. I'm just happy something within the commuter/mass transit arena is being done in Houston....finally.

So with the possible pierce elevation removal, this location turned out to be not so bad after all.
