The Bellaire Theater was right in the corner. I hope someone has an old picture.
I remember going to that place when it was called Discovery Zone in the early-mid 90's.
-
Are you talking about the cameras on the traffic signal poles? If so, those just detect when vehicles are waiting for the light.
-
I remember going there in the early 90's.

You should also look at The Monarch School. Its in the Memorial area. http://monarchschool.org/

Most of the intersections along the Katy Freeway that have alredy been re-done have traffic signals on large poles with iluiminated signs.

I live off Memorial and Wilcrest and was not home at the time so I cant say if it was seen or felt in the area, but my friend lives near Longenbaugh and Barker Cypress and basically had a front row seat. He said the whole neighborhood begain freaking out and at first he thought it was a low flying plane and that maybe it had crashed. He tried calling 911 but it was busy probably from everyone else calling. He said that the whole house shook.

My friend has one in his house. It is small inside and slow, but it is nice to have, especially for elderly or disabled people. It is nicely finished inside and has a phone.
-
I remember that phone test line. We did that too! We would set it up for my mom to answer. There used to be a "robot line" too. You could call it and it would produce some really unique noises to that time during the 1970's. 455-5555 or something like that. Maybe it was one of the first fax lines or something.
In Sugar Land with Alltel you can dial your own number then immediatly hang up and the phones will ring. I have tried it on SBC/AT&T and it dosent work.

That was Brittain's Broiler Burger - one of my all-time favorite places to eat. Beck's does a pretty good copy of the old "number 2 with cheese" with their Bubba Burger minus the lettuce and tomatoes and add onions.
If you've never tried it, Beck's has a couple of very nice locations - one on Westheimer between Chimney
Rock and Fountainview (they saved a BEAUTIFUL old oak tree and put seating below) and the other is next to the "pro shop" at Memorial Park golfcourse - north of Memorial Drive. You can sit outside and look out over the fairway or putting area - like "being at the country club".
There may be a Broiler Burger preserved on Bellaire (near where it splits with Bisonett) but I was not impressed with their food. Didn't come close to the Brittain's Broiler Burger I remember so fondly.
The broiler burger on Bellaire is called Bellaire Broiler Burger.

Gringos in Stafford is great.

I have used Dish, DirecTV, and cable, and out of all 3 I say Dish is the best. The picture and sound quality are much better on Dish than cable or DirecTV. Rain fade rarely happens and is over hyped by the cable companies, I can also count on one hand the number of outages I have had and I have been using satellite since 1998. Satellite is also cheaper than what I would be spending on digital cable if I still used it.

Hello All:
I am planning a sprinkler system for my home, please suggest me companies who work on Irrigation Systems.
Thanks in Advance,
BR
Dont use TMS irrigation. They installed the system at my old house in Sugar Land and they did a really bad job. They didnt bury the heads deep enough, so they were at a heighth where people could trip on them, and some were burried too deep, so they werent able to pop up high enough to water the plants.

Could you show what you mean (print scr). Though I am pretty sure you should click the options button (right under add reply/new topic), then under display modes click standard.
that worked. thanks.

I have noticed that recently to view responses to threads you have to click each one. Is there a way to set it like it was before and see all of them at the same time?

Does anyone have experience with the golf/country clubs in the area? Our neighborhood is associated with Meadow Brook Farms Golf Club, but while we love the course we wished it had more non-golf facilities and services. We have friends that like Pecan Grove (Sugar Land area) but wanted to get other opinions...
There is Sweetwater in Sugar Land.

Goode Company BBQ on I-10 is not in the city of Houston. I think it is in Hedwig Village, but it may be Bunker Hill.

Those idiots at Lone Star Doughnuts are probably banging their heads on their desks for loosing the Krispy Kreme franchise.

My friend and I went to Fun Plex a few months ago because we had not been there in a few years and we wanted to see if it had changed. The place is now a dump, over half of the building was closed off and the parts that were open were not in very good condition and half the lights were burnt out so it was kind of dark.
I found the Fun Plex website. It still appears to have a lot of stuff http://www.funplex.org/

So, after the completion of the University Bridge in two weeks, and the Sweetwater bridge a month later, will this help traffic or hurt it? Nothing major will change until they get the bridges over the Brazos built, but I wonder if this will help a little.
Im sure that it will at least help with the traffic on the bridges. When I first moved to First Colony in 1990 the Sweetwater bridge was two lanes (one each way) with stop signs instead of traffic signals. They expanded it in the mid-late 90's to its current configuration with narrow lanes.

I have tried Jumbles once or twice and it is not nearly as good as Shipleys or Krispy Kreme. I was with my friends out in Missouri City and the former Krispy Kreme now Jumbles looks like it has already gone out of business.

Hilton is his first name so Paris & Hilton have a different last name.
The babys name is not Paris Hilton, Hilton is not their last name is his first.
Isnt Hilton the idiot with the chainsaw in the commercials?

Look at ol' Apple. They're making a comeback. I surprised that the Woodlands doesn't already have one.
The Woodlands already does lol. The Memorial City one will be convient to me. I hate haveing to go to the Galleria just to go to the Apple store.

I was curious about something, have most of the Houston radio and TV towers always located near Missouri City and if not when did they move them there? Also how did they determine that was a good location for them?

The only freeway in Houston I have never been on is the section of beltway 8 between 59 north and 45 south on the east side.
