Before taking the BikeHouston job, he was the communications director at Transportation Alternatives, a nonprofit based in New York City. While he was there, the organization successfully advocated for the legalization of e-bikes on the city’s streets and the expansion of its school zone speed camera program, as well as a number of street redesigns, including the “Miracle on 14th Street,” which restricted traffic on the Manhattan street to buses and some deliveries, and the construction of more than 60 miles of protected bike lanes.
