Building Materials Recycling Program Debuts

The City of Houston's Solid Waste Department has begun accepting concrete at its six Neighborhood Depository and Recycling Facilities. Citizens seeking to replace their sidewalks, driveways, patios, cinder blocks, and other concrete building materials may now drop off these items at no cost up to four times per month. The Cherry Company, which partners with the City of Houston via this program, returns 100% of the recycled concrete aggregate product into new construction, local maintenance, and repair projects. The nearest neighborhood recycling facility to District C is located at 9003 N. Main St, 77022 and is open 9:00am - 6:00pm.
