And it turns out the mosquito-borne illness isn't exactly a stranger there. Dengue has been roaming around the city since 2003, according to a study published Wednesday. "There was dengue circulating, and we had no idea that it was here because we just weren't looking," says the study's lead author Dr. Kristy Murray of the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. I love how we have become a country that so despises the other side of the aisle we will gladly wish injury and death upon those who have a differing opinion. Very sad. The fever is quite troubling! I live in the coastal regions and we have mosquitos down here (and in Galveston where I work) that are big enough they need a runway to land. And they are nasty, in that they swarm (the Asian Tiger mosquitoes). I've never worried much about West Nile, but Dengue fever is a different animal all together.
