Does anyone here ever catch Houston Matters on NPR? Comes on between Noon and 1pm on KUHF 88.7, Craig Cohen hosts and pulls in subject matter experts on various topics. I sometimes stream during lunch, and the topics are often very interesting and fall in line with discussions i see on this forum on many occasions. Yesterday the topics incuded discussions on the blue laws in Texas and park space in Houston. http://www.houstonmatters.org/show/2015/03/03/liquor-laws-and-parking-tuesdays-show-march-3-2015
Looking through the 1956 AIA Directory, I found a Baytown architect, Lowell Lammers (born Chicago, educated at MIT and the Armour Institute of Technology), who had moderated a KTRH program by that name in 1952. Do any archives exist that might preserve the conversations?
Tuned in to 103.7 for my daily Live at 5 today, and heard a countdown (cheesy launch countdown), and the announcement of the Houston launch of "Air 1". I gave it a few minutes after he announced that they were on in Houston and asked for someone to bring him some Pappasitos. Then he went on to say that "this isn't your normal show, its unique, blah blah" then he went on to say this is not a show about Christianity, this is a show about Jesus. I then reproggramed my station. This was the last station in Houston i could consistently listen to. Back to my mp3s... I guess this is part of Cumulus's downsizing (bankruptcy filing?), is 104.1 next?
