  2. Sad news for viewers of CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston. Former CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston reporter John "Rucks" Russell has passed away at the age of 55 yesterday. Russell's former colleague, former CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston reporter & political analyst Doug Miller received the news from Russell's wife. On Miller's Facebook page, Miller posted a nice tribute for Russell: https://www.facebook.com/doug.miller.75033149/posts/10224020654571793 Russell worked at CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston from 2006 to 2017, when he left the station to work as the Communications Director for US Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) in Washington, DC; he then became the Senior Media & Communications Specialist HHS Office of Minority Health & also last worked as Chief of Staff/Communications Director for Houston City Council. Prior to KHOU-TV, Russell worked for WNCN-TV Raleigh, NC., WRIC-TV Central Virginia as well as stops in Washington, DC., Orlando, FL & Roanoke, VA.   3. CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston Anchor Lisa Hernandez & her husband, ESPN 97.5 FM Host Joel Blank got a terrific treat the day before Halloween with the birth of their 2nd daughter: "She's here! Baby Madison made her debut this morning, October 30th, at 7lb, 9oz & we are over the moon," Hernandez posted on Facebook. Big sister Taylor was born in August of 2015.   7. Looks like CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston has an updated logo in case you've been living under a glacier.... Besides their new home at Avenida in Downtown, they also updated their logo as well. According to Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com., it looks like CBS 11 is keeping up with the times as they're making recent changes to their Weekday Morning Show & other developments. Newscast Studio reported CBS 11 began using their new logo on Social Media. Interesting to see if the other TEGNA TV Stations across the United States have changed or updated their logos including graphics packages as well.   9. Jacqueline Crea has decided to leave KHOU-TV CBS 11 Houston after 3 years with the CBS TEGNA station & heading to the Mile-High City. According to Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com., Crea's new job will be Reporter/Fill-In Anchor. "It's tough leaving a place that has become home these past 3 years & where I have family, but I'm looking forward to the new opportunities at KMGH in Denver, with my fiancé & our pup," Crea told mikemcguff.com. "KHOU shaped me & challenged me in ways I never could've imagined & will forever be grateful for the experiences & stories I leave with." Crea joined KHOU-TV in 2014. She was previously the weekend anchor at KTSM-TV El Paso. She began her journalism career with KNSD-TV San Diego, CA as a freelance reporter. The Los Angeles, CA native graduated from UC-San Diego. Her fiancé, Tom Biberacher, popped the question to Crea last Thanksgiving in San Diego. Her last day with KHOU-TV CBS 11 is on February 9th.   10. Former Ch. 13 Sports Director Bob Allen lost his battle with cancer last night at the age of 70.   11. On Wednesday of last week, KHOU-TV CBS 11 Weather meteorologist Chita Craft announced that she & her husband, Lane Craft are expecting a baby boy. The Craft's also made the official announcement during a small segment in KHOU-TV's morning newscast including a gender reveal.
