I've been keeping my eye on the Rubicon Realty page, and it was recently updated with this nugget: "Rubicon continues to work on the Phase IV development at The Crossing at Telfair. The recent execution of a ground Lease with Chuy's Mexican Restaurant has created a buzz in the market recognizing The Crossing at Telfair as one of the premier developments in the greater Houston area." Link: http://rubiconrealty.com/development Chuy's was also discussed during a December meeting of Sugar Land's Planning & Zoning Commission. Sounds like a sticking point was a palapa roof and a neon sign. Link: http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/city_hall/city_secretary/agendas/FY2013/121112pz/4a.pdf Does anybody have any additional info on this? Does "execution of a ground lease" make it a done deal?

Karbach released their latest Bourbon Barreled Hellfighter (#3). Its available at HEB if you can find it. I also saw it at Kroger on Studemont which has a very good beer department. I haven't tried it yet, sitting in my fridge waiting for the right night. But wanted to put it out there since it is a limited release.

I just read on Bayou City History that Houston Arts and Media is having a fundraiser at the St. Arnold's Brewery this Thursday night. Houston Arts and Media is involved in a number of local history projects, including: - A documentary film about the history of stand-up comedy in Houston - A series of books about the history of different Houston neighborhoods - A photographic collection of historic Houston school buildings - A documentary and book about "Houston's historic beer joints and saloons" - A book about the history of Frostown - A collection of oral histories recorded from long-time Houstonians The fundraiser will feature a silent auction, plus (from their website): "There will be live music, food, and, of course, complimentary St. Arnold beer. We will be displaying a new slideshow montage of collected interviews and photographs, and Donna Kacmar, a UH Architecture professor, will be displaying some of the results of her students' work on the architectural history of Houston's Ice Houses, Burger Joints and Taco Stands, a project that aligns with our pending documentary History of Houston Beer Joints and Saloons." Tickets at the door are $20 - but it sounds like a good cause, and the beer is free. The event is from 6-9, and the brewery is here.
