    Projects in every city get cancelled or fall through. Plenty of projects have died in Dallas and Atlanta as well. I think we notice it more because we look for news about Houston every day. We only hear about ever other city a couple times a month when a project breaks ground or is announced. Plenty of those announce projects in other cities die, we just don't hear about it....

    Gus Wortham will stay a golf course. I forget his name this morining, but the UofH alumni pro golfer and other alumni are gathering funds to completely redo the course. Instructors will be added as well as plenty of other upgrades. UofH wants this to be the cougars golf team home course. Also their has been more out-cry from the community then the AO crowd has about rail. This golf course has so much history and has a beautiful natural terain that runs along the bayou. It needs to have a facelift and a good reminder to the public of what a hidden jem the city has. This course was the top place in Texas to play for many decades. As far as the Dynamo new stadium, I truly beleive something will be work out with the city some where, some how. Their is open space around the city. I truly hope the stadium could be just east of MMP. I have always heard HISD will get involved to build a multi-use stadium just like FriscoISD did for the Dallas team.

    The third lot is roped off. The middle lot is full of cars but I saw a few guys on ladders taking down lights and other misc. things. The first lot next to the rail line was full of cars.

    I posted that exact sentence on post #1701... I got an e-mail response from a rep of HP. I have no idea who Complex01 is and if he copied what I posted or got the same e-mail response....

    Got an e-mail back from a rep of HP this evening. It stated that the HP will break ground on 02-05-07 and will be completed in time for the holiday season of '08 (approx. Oct.) Seriously this project is a go! When you are dealing with 200 million dollars every detail needs to be completed before any construction will start. Why are so many here still crying and focusing on the Shamrock? Their has been dozens of impressive projects completed and started since Shamrock was announced.

    This project is a go! I know people get frustrated but you got to remember this project has only been around for a couple of years. Their is 200million dollars involved and every little detail needs to be complete before construction starts. I truly beleive this project will be in full swing and ground will break during Spring time (March/April)

    Because Pro-Sport teams will pack up their bags and move to a city that will build one for them. I understand why and how we build the stadiums but some things bother me. For example with MMP, we built the stadium with our taxes but the owner Drayton McCLain keeps the millions for naming rights.

    The base of the crane is up, they were also moving dirt around today... This is an awesome structure....

    Plenty of projects are going up in Houston - There are cranes poping up all over the city, condos and townhomes are going up like crazy as well. Don't worry people, this project is a go. In my opinion DT Denver and Seattle has more residential and shopping then our DT because that only have one cenral area and also majority of our cities residential and shopping is in uptown/galleria area which is like a second DT.

    Richmond just east of Kirby across from the VW dealership, a crane went up for a project called "Alexian" It has 207 units and is street front. The billboard had a picture, it look about the size of the new "Empire".

    Between the crane for the Cosmopolitian and the west loop along post oak two cranes went up on the lot wear the apts. were torn down. Couldn't find a thread about this... What is going on?

    Does Seattle or Denver have an area like our Uptown?Galleria area. Maybe Dt in those cities are the only areas that have highrise living. Houston is a diffrent breed. In my experience people who can afford to own an unit in a highrise prefer to live other places then DT - The Galleria are or by Herman Park for example...

    They are going to copy exactly what FC Dallas did. FC Dallas is the most efficient and well run club in MLS. They have over 6500 players in their soccer club. Frisco ISD shares the stadium with FC Dallas, paid for most of it. North Dallas where majority of the suburb soccer moms and kids are, grow up playing and living with FC Dallas. I don't like it I wish the stadium could be east of DT and be work in with HISD. I can understand completely though if a deal works with Clear Lake or Ft. Bend County. In buisiness you learn to be successful, find someone who made it work the best nd copy them... Who better to copy then FC Dallas... Sorry can't spell or type tonight....

    Driving up 59, today I saw a crane rising up in this area. I wonder what project was it for?

    Off subject - but I had a customer DT today. It was around 1PM, and the street level foot trafiic was impressive, people were walking on every block. Ladies were walking out of Macy's and the men clothing store (forgot name) had people walking in and out. The outside sitting eateries were busy. It was good to see.... DT is realy picking up a solid pace, there is a lot more action then many realize what is going on. I am guesing when pictures are posted of DT the pictures have to be taken on the weekend.

    I guess ground breaking is on hold, I haven't heard any news today. I got an e-mail from a HP rep a few weeks back that today will be the day but no movement?

    From what I have heard from a couple solid sources is that it might be a joint venture with HISD. The stadium will be just east of MMP or just north of DT. HISD will use it for football games, track meets graduation ceremonies etc... So I assume our school taxes will help build this stadium and the Dynamo and the teams sponsors will cover some of the cost.
