  1. Anyone know where I can look for my home in old photos or abstracts? I recently bought Houston Heights, Images of America by Anne Sloan and saw that there are homes very very close to me that are featured which gives me small hope that mine might be somewhere as well. Also, I am originally from Eureka Springs and they actually have an architectural archive that has a lot of photos or abstracts of the homes when they were first built. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks D
  2. Why again has Astrodome been completely over looked? I know there is most likely a different thread for what its demise will eventually be but from what I remember, we are still paying for it via taxes... Why not use it for something? Hell its already Dynamo colors and there is already a ton of parking there... Its a 20 minute ride to downtown on the rail... What am I missing?
  3. Is there anyone around my area (11th/12th and Yale) that would like to get/has a truck/trailer and hit a few/bunch of households? I have several jugs of oil and would be willing to help run around and load up stuff from others around the neighborhood. Would be a great way to meet the neighborfolk and clean up things safely. D
  4. Maybe its not to overwhelm either street with constant traffic? Kinda splits it up and evens things out a bit. Anyone know what these apartments are goin for?
  5. I noticed this too... I hadn't ever seen the house before the storm, I thought maybe they had some trees go down and have decided to clean up?
  6. URT - University of the Republic of Texas ;o)
  7. Looking at the maps off of Virtual Earth it looks like there would be minimal building backing up to the homes... Wouldn't be too hard to put in a "buffer"...
  8. I live on 11th and Yale in a single family home and see nothing wrong with development at 19th and Yale... I don't see how this would disrupt the "feel" of the neighborhood. If it attracts anyone like the places in Midtown have, I would have to say that it might breathe fresh life into that area. I cannot however see anything such as this ever happening on heights or "in" the neighborhoods with such an active community. Just my .02 .... D
