  1. I drove by a week ago and there were some workers around the building. I just assumed they were boarding everything up to make sure that homeless people couldn't get in. This is such an eyesore and whenever someone comes to visit they always ask about "that gross building with the windows missing."
  2. Not gona lie. When I drove down polk yesterday, I was super pumped to see those armadillos lol How is the city going to solve the garbage can issue on Monday and Tuesdays? Residents along polk put trashcans right where the bike lane is being placed. On both sides of Polk.
  3. Milestones to come at LyondellBasell Tower: End of August Skybridge from Fulbright Tower to 4 Houston Center opens September Terrace area on P1 completed with new outdoor furnishings October New glass entryway located on the northeast corner of LyondellBasell Tower opens P1 south lobby finishes to be complete December Plaza, mezzanine, and amenity spaces, including the fitness center and conferencing venue to be complete The redevelopment of Houston Center aligns with our approach to creating and operating iconic mixed-use projects and focusing on the central theme of placemaking. Upon completion, Houston Center will be a modern and dynamic mixed-use office campus with amenities specially designed for you, our tenants. We look forward to unveiling the entire redevelopment once complete. Please note that there is still the possibility of delays for delivery of items that may be impacted by the pandemic, weather events or other unknowns. As construction continues, we will provide project news and updates through email and via www.HoustonCenter.com.
  4. I think the entire portion of the floating bus stop is going to be concrete. Are they working on the bike lanes on Polk already?
  5. The were still working when I got home at 8:00 p.m. last night and were working early this morning. There is a huge crew working on this project, and they are working from Scott to Emancipation. Hopefully they get done before the storm rolls in this afternoon.
  6. They are back working on Polk. This morning they were working between Delano and Scott. I wish I knew the terminology to describe what they are doing. They are ripping up the road to repave it.
  7. Update from today. You can see they are working on the spiral staircase that is included in the renderings.
  8. I live on Polk and have not seen any workers for a few week between Emancipation and Scott. I assume they are just working on a different portion and will come back and finish what they started. Currently, it is a mess.
  9. Having met the people behind this place multiple times, this does not surprise me. They also run Sports Creek off Polk St. They are younger guys and they are trying their best but this was inevitable. Sports Creek is poorly run. Hopefully this allows to focus on that.
  10. Thanks for sending that over. But it isn't the area that they don't control. The driveways are along bell. They seem to be too close together to be entrances to a parking lot. I will snap a picture the next time I am over there.
  11. Does anyone know what else is supposed to go on this large lot? On Bell St. there are a bunch of small concrete driveways that look like townhome driveways. Is there a residential portion?
  12. Wife and I went last Saturday. It was a great with the beautiful weather we had. Seems like they are working on an entrance or something on the back side of the building as well.
  13. Looks like just storage for Lovett while they work on the old Post building
  14. As you can probably gather from my name, I am pretty excited about this. Chapman just didn't seem like the right fit for the area. This will be a great addition to the neighborhood. The downtown spaces will recover, but if Chapman had left without a replacement, it would have taken more time to find a suitable replacement.
  15. Sign up for future development of retail. Didn't have my phone to take a picture. https://capitalretailproperties.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/1102-Delano-EADO-Flier-11.4.19.pdf
  16. That is great news. Much better than previous plans of just basically a big parking lot.
  17. Hope this doesn't mean they lost Walgreens/CVS. We need one in the neighborhood.
  18. Timeline of the project for the LBT. Please find below a timeline (anticipated start and completion dates) on major project milestones that may impact LyondellBasell Tower (LBT). Anticipated completion of the full Houston Center project is late 2020. Skybridge between LBT and 4 Houston Center – anticipated completion by January 2020 Skybridge/east stairwell connecting Fulbright Tower and mezzanine level – the new stairwell is expected to be open for public usage by late November 2019. Note: The stairwell will be open and safe for public usage, but the stairwell finishes will not be 100% complete at this stage. Removal of escalators in LBT – this milestone is contingent upon the opening of the stairwell (anticipated by late November 2019). Assuming all goes accordingly, escalator removal is expected to occur by late 2019. LBT main building entrance – this date is contingent upon the timing of the curtain wall installation. New retail door openings will be installed on the South side of the building and will serve as a temporary entrance in order to facilitate the removal of the existing East side entrance. Installation of the South side retail doors is projected to occur by late March 2020. Parking garage - The plaza work overall will be ongoing until the end of 2020. Structural and waterproofing work will not be completed until the final stage of the project, anticipated in mid to late 2020. LBT lobby areas – Terrazzo floor installation phasing is commencing next week (early November 2019). Anticipated completion and reopening of the full lobby is late 2020. Fitness center and conferencing center – expected completion by late 2020.
  19. My wife spoke with the owner last week and he said that they would be opening next month.
  20. On Saturday I noticed an application to sell and consume alcohol on the warehouse at 2301 Dallas. The name of the applicant was Woody's Hideaway. It was posted on October 4, 2019.
  21. http://swamplot.com/frankels-polk-st-costume-shop-and-its-cold-storage-neighbor-line-up-for-mixed-use-makeovers/2018-11-05/ Mixed use. Exciting news but no idea how long this is going to take.
  22. They are still open. They just don't have any food trucks. They still make in house cheese steaks. The frustrating part is that Houston is the only city in Texas with the 100ft rule. Why are we always two steps behind?
  23. https://houstonfoodfinder.com/2018/10/04/six-years-after-grassroot-efforts-houston-diners-still-cant-sit-eat-at-a-food-truck/ What a stupid 100 ft. ordinance. Sooooo Truck yard can't have food trucks....
