Bayou City Outdoors Holiday Farmers Market Tour by Bike
Meet at 8:30 AM leave at 9:00 to noon
Onion Creek
3106 White Oak Drive
Houston, TX 77007
We have several Farmer Markets right here in the middle of the city, which bring in local organic produce every Saturday. Bring your backpack to carry what you purchase, and let's shop the markets on our bikes!
Now we're riding it Holiday Style!
Wear Christmas colors,
put your jingle bells on,
or even decorate your helmet!
Santa hats are great as long as they fit over your helmet.
Come out and stretch your legs biking to the Farmer’s Markets of Houston to shop for local organic produce! Hop on your bike and let’s take a ride through the side streets, trails, and residential areas in the heart of Houston. This is a very social ride and all levels of riders are welcome.
We will start the morning off with coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise through the market to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies!
If you’d like to join us but don’t own a bike, there are several options around town. You can pick up a bike from the B-Cycle kiosk around town (details here: http://houston.bcycle.com/home.aspx
Or go to one of your local bikes shops like: West End Bicycles @ www.westendbikes.com, Bike Barn -@http://bikebarn.com/, Planetary Cycles @ http://planetarycycles.com/, or Houston Cycling Centres @ http://northwestcyclery.com/.
If you are a member of Bayou City Outdoors and do not have a bike, we can loan you a bike for the ride. But you MUST call the office 1 to 2 weeks in advance to arrange for the loaner bike.
