Spring is in the air at the 21st Annual Galveston Home & Garden Show, March 14th & 15th, at the beautiful Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort.
The Home & Garden Show will feature more than 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest in home repair, furnishings, landscaping, outdoor living, decorator items, pet items, pools and spas, energy efficient products and home gifts. With a special emphasis on 'green' products, the event will feature some of the finest new residential developments on the Island, hard-to-find plants, and more. Second Saturday Buffalo Bayou Boat Rides! (weather permitting)
Sabine-to-Bagby Promenade, 10am-2pm
These 30-minute boat rides are a great way to spend the afternoon with your family. Escape from the city and enjoy the cool breeze as you glide along the bayou's waters. Look for graceful herons, jumping fish, and even the occasional alligator sunning on the bayou's banks. After your cruise, enjoy a picnic lunch on the new Sabine-to-Bagby Promenade grounds.

Check out some of Houston's brightest youth at the 50th Science and Engineering Fair of Houston on Saturday, March 14 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. More than 1,000 projects will be on exhibition from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the University of Houston-Downtown and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Under the direction of violinist Lavard Skou-Larson, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists perform a spirited program of works including Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major for violin, viola and orchestra; Piazzolla's Five Tango Sensations, Villa-Lobos's Bacchiana Brasileira, No. 9; and Haydn's Symphony No. 49, La Passione. Society for the Performing Arts brings it all to the Wortham Theater Center on Saturday, March 14.
