Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth)
Inspired by German translations of Chinese poetry, Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde was considered by the composer to be his most personal piece. Mahler chose seven poems upon which to base the work. Listen as this sublime work travels on a journey through the human soul. "Das Lied" will take you from quiet sorrow to a lively drunken song, then to a gentle, serene, melodious conclusion.
Tickets start at $29.
