Unexpected Kidnapping victims....

According to this news article, a whole new set of victims has been uncovered in the aftermath of the kidnappings that have been resolved recently. The guilt that they didn't notice the kids sooner.

This kinda' comes down to how we generally live our lives. I don't blame the people that are surrounding the area, hindsight is always tough to look at, especially when you're questioning your own actions.

While one of the neighbors has heard loud noises and arguments coming from one of the apartments, she apparently had done nothing to investigate. This is, unfortunately typical of behavior in today's society.

While the article touches why this apartment complex which sees mostly low income people's myopic view of their own struggles, I believe this can just as easily happen in even the nicer neighborhoods around town.

I know all of my neighbors, but i don't hang out with them.

My neighbors are afraid to say anything to anyone, so something like this could easily happen. There's no sense of community, just a bunch of people doing their own thing, just living in a house, not participating in a community. This is also how communities slide into a sad state.

The other extreme is having a bunch of nosy neighbors. I think keeping to oneself is fine, but we shouldn't forget that we're part of a larger group too, and what we do or don't do has an impact on the rest. I see that quality as lacking where I live.

I just meet a neighbor who is moving in two houses down as i speak. I was taking out the trash can and he was wanting to now what day's were trash pic up.

I know who most of them are, however I only wave high and such every so often to my next door neighbor... I don't have a neighbor on the otherside, since I live on the corner.
