DaTrain
This thread is a spinoff from Plastic's Access Ramps Freeway 2 Destination thread. Don't get me wrong, street-to-street interchanges already do exist in Houston such as:*Memorial Drive at Waugh/Heights, Shepherd, Houston Avenue*Memorial Drive at Shepherd*Broadway SB to Hobby on top of Airport Boulevard/Broadway exit, same for Airport WB*Allen Parkway at Shepherd, Waugh, Montrose/Studemont*Sawyer SB to Memorial*Holcombe at Main and Fannin*Washington Avenue, Hempstead Highway, Old Katy RoadWhat major streets and/or intersections do you think need more of these, such as ramps, overpasses, etc. Some examples would be: Highway 6 and FM 1960. These two will never be freeways and traffic is as sucky as it gets all hours of the day, so they can sure have interchanges at all the intersections with lights like it does at Hempstead Highway before 290. And since US 90A is slowling converting to a mini-freeway, I also believe the OST part of 90a can use more of these like at the South Main merge, and an overpass on MLK Boulevard on top of OST (just close up the gas station in the wide median and build it there is space for a bridge right there).Drop your thoughts on the topic. desirous
Hillcroft at Westpark needs serious help, but the area is too dense to allow reconstruction.

Main, particularly between the South Loop and Spur 5, then up Lockwood to I-10. There's plenty of ROW.I'd also like to see the same thing done along Westheimer, Veterans Memorial Dr., parts of N. Shepherd north of the Loop., and along N. and S. Braeswood outside of the Loop and possibly in a few spots inside as well. Highway 3 would also be a good place for them to be implemented continuously, as it would prevent so much gridlock during evacuations. W. Lake Houston Pkwy. will also be a good candidate within about five years. In the long-term, Almeda Road (FM 521) and Cullen Blvd. (FM 865) going out toward Pearland will be a good candidates. CDeb
I believe a grade seperation is being built at 1960 & Kuykendahl.
desirous
Are there any plans to grade-separate intersections on SH6? The Westheimer and Bellaire intersections come to mind.

DaTrain
Weren't there plans to grade separate the frontage roads of BW8 and Westheimer at one point?
desirous
Weren't there plans to grade separate the frontage roads of BW8 and Westheimer at one point? It's still on the table of pending projects, but I haven't heard anything about it. Given I live at Westheimer/Voss, I can attest to that intersection needing a whole lot of help.
XavinNydek
I think they should just bite the bullet and convert 1960/Hwy6 to a freeway. It's already moving that direction with all of the grade seperations that are planned, and the construction is only going to get nastier the longer it festers.
