bachanon
you've just retraced many of my days. the woodlands looks so "contrived" compared to the heights. your pictures remind me of why i love houston so much. you did miss pictures of market street and the free concerts that occur here weekly, but i love the perspective. thanks montrose! Yeah, thanks, Montrose. Those pics suggest why both areas are enjoyed. However, while the Woodlands pictures brought to mind the word, "pleasant", the Heights photos made me think of "interesting". It may not seem like a big difference, but "pleasant" inspires relaxation, while "interesting" provokes thought. While both expressions have their good points, it is easy to see why one might choose one over the other. PS - A more superficial view may be "new" versus "old". I've been to Market Street many, many times, I have yet to have a "collection" of photos. And at the moment, I had all the time in the world to be at the Heights. Then when I was at the Woodlands, I only had 2 hours or so, because my day is usually played by ear. But I should be able to get some (more) Market Street pictures, and I'll be sure to share them. edit: It wasn't so much a comparison between the two, but I just happen to be at both in the same day. If I were to compare them, I would have included homes & parks in the Woodlands, and more then just the mall . *Also, why was the edit options a million scrolls down the page? Editor? TxDave
I find the contrast very fascinating. Considering that The Heights was Houston's "first suburb", the comparison to one of Houston's leading suburbs today is quite interesting.
