The business will undergo liquidation instead of reorganization. A trustee will now sell the company's assets to pay off creditors. Turkey Leg Hut remains closed for business. It's likely the restaurant will not reopen soon at 4830 Almeda Rd. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/turkey-leg-hut-chapter-7-bankruptcy-19815677.php Edited October 11 by IntheKnowHouston
IntheKnowHouston
A business, which doesn't seem to be connected to The Turkey Leg Hut, bought a certificate of occupancy for 4830 Almeda Road, Suite A yesterday. The certificate lists the business as Tasty T's. This suggests that The Turkey Leg Hut might not reopen at its current location. Details from the certificate of occupancy pertaining to 4830 Almeda Rd, Suite A: Use: Occupancy report / restaurant / 3,300 Sq Ft FCC Group: Non-residential alteration McCoy & Robinson Enterprises, LLC, the company connected to Tasty T's, bought the occupancy certificate. IntheKnowHouston
Houston Chronicle recently covered Turkey Leg Hut's Chapter 7 bankruptcy 341 meeting. Following a series of serious health code violations in September, the restaurant was forced to close and subsequently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. As mentioned in the above post, it appears a new tenant may be in line to take over the 4830 Almeda spot. A business named Tasty T's obtained a certificate of occupancy a few weeks ago. More from today's Houston Chronicle article: Following the 341 meeting, [ trustee Ronald] Sommers issued a notice of assets and requested creditors to submit proof of claims by Feb. 3 to receive distribution. On Oct. 11, Sommers filed a notice of abandonment of all furniture, equipment, machinery and inventory at Turkey Leg Hut. According to the United States Courts, a notice of abandonment "abandons all scheduled property from the bankruptcy estate with the exception of assets the Trustee intends to administer." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/turkey-leg-hut-owner-blames-demise-restaurant-19874565.php

Turkey Leg Hut's lease at 4830 Almeda Rd is terminated. Over the weekend, a judge granted an order for the landowner to terminate the restaurant's lease. As previously a posted, it appears the landlord has a new tenant waiting in the wings. Occupancy permits purchased in October show the tenant is Tasty T's, which is likely a restaurant. I sent that news to Houston Chronicle and Chron.com back in October. I'm not sure why both decided against informing their readers of that particular update. More from the Houston Chronicle article: Chief United States Bankruptcy Court Judge Eduardo Rodriguez signed an order on Nov. 22 granting CNPH Properties, LLC. relief from automatic stay against 4830 Almeda Road — ultimately allowing a creditor to take action against the debtor’s property. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/turkey-leg-hut-s-lease-terminated-landlord-19941155.php Link to the Chron.com article: https://www.chron.com/food/article/turkey-leg-hut-lease-terminated-19941680.php
