The Marine Center Building/Westheimer Building At 1305 Prairie St.

Highrise Tower

Recommended Posts

Today I walked by The Marine Building and decided to snap some photos.  I wonder the architect?

Interesting to note, this was (one) of the homestead of Sam Houston in the 1800s.

Edit: This site was home to Sidney Westheimer Undertakers in the 1920s (previously across Caroline St. at the Westheimer Building) and also his Oak Lawn Dairy offices. In the 1940s and 1950s it was the Advertising Arts Building, housing typesetters, photo engravers, and also the Pioneer Tire and Rubber Co.
