Lucinda And L.T. Yeates Young Women's Boarding Home On Harrisburg Blvd.

Recommended Posts

In 1909, Miss Lucinda Lee Gilmore founded the boarding home in Magnolia Park. This home was located at Avenue B and Harrisburg.

The mansion was originally her grandfather's estate that was left behind to his daughters. L.T. Yeates a pioneer resident of South Texas, who was at one time a very wealthy and highly respected citizen of Harris County.

The architect who designed the residence was Archibald W.H. Shoemaker. With such an interesting name!
