A plumbing permit was purchased yesterday for 3302 Mercer St.

Details from the permit:

  • Use: Bar and storage remodel 1-1-5-A2-S1-B '15IBC
  • FCC Group: Non-residential alteration.

As mentioned last year in an architectural barriers project filing posted above, the permit pertains to speakeasy or a wine bar. It's possible the bar may be named Underground (or The Underground). It's a project from Covington Builders planned for 3302 Mercer St.

I asked a woman who was walking by about this, she said it will be a bar and probably a wine bar. She also said the city wouldn't let them build a 7 story building here. Guessing deed restrictions on the heights of buildings.
