Highrise Tower
wow! Go MD Anderson! I can only imagine TMC will continue to grow and expand.
HoustonIsHome
Points for density improvements. This is a huge undeveloped plot between TMC and 288. I highly prefer developing undeveloped plots before imploding derelict buildings to rebuild on. That's one of ( not the only ) the reasons why the density of buildings in TMC is higher than anywhere else in Texas. TMC and M D Anderson both are Houston gems

Highrise Tower
Took a site visit this weekend. Anderson sure does have a lot of reserved land scattered across the med center. Edited April 9, 2019 by ekdrm2d1

Highrise Tower
8.56-Acres For Sale At Cayuga St. & Corder St. Looks like site work is about to start on the corner of the block. Probably unrelated, but the area has flooding issues so it's good to see.
Highrise Tower
This is owned by UT and they're calling it Institute Place. On the corner of Corder and Cayuga. Looks like a surface lot? Maybe for construction parking?
Lux
As of 2016, there was a publically proposed ground lease at 3000 Corder Street to Halo House Foundation for the construction and operation of medium-term cancer patient housing. Houston19514
Halo House is at 2940 Corder Street, the parcel labeled on the map above as "UT MD Anderson Cancer Center East Campus". Grand opening was in May 2019. UT Board of Regents also owns the land surrounding that parcel (to the east, south, and west), but does not own the larger parcel at the intersection of Corder and Cayuga.

hindesky
This has to be a temporary track, it has absolutely no supported rail bed. A heavy train would sink into that grass and derail. That plus only 1 nail in each track guide.

Highrise Tower
Looks like there is two, going on three, active projects at MD Anderson's East Campus. MD Anderson controls so much land in the Almeda Road & Corder Street area. Vaughn Construction is working on the Pawnee Parking Expansion. Development team includes Dally + Associates, Wong & Associates, PhiloWilke Partnership, and Prestige MEP. Next is an unknown project, the proposed Consolidated Service Center? The general contractor and builder is Austin Industries. There is a whole row of trailers out. Makes me think this one is a larger project. * This could actually be the Vaughn trailers? I see a sign for Austin.
Highrise Tower
That's a lot of land for a surface lot. At least a surface lot is easy to demolish in 30 years when they need to utilize more space for their institution.

Highrise Tower
The Austin Commercial site now has a tan screen fence wrap. The Vaughn construction site is a wide hole! It is a shallow hole though. The skyline view of the tower crane over at the UT Research Park complex. Looks like it's the SCRB5 tower crane.
