I was looking on my phone, so I thought that was the pool on top of the garage. Once I enlarged the photo, I see my mistake. But really the placenta on the southeast corner is no better. People love the rooftop pools. (On top of the garages). The Spires pool is down low and it's depressing.

Good grief, autocorrect wrote placenta when I wanted to say placement. Forgive me.

We will see

coming from the west, yes, it will be one of the first things you see when you emerge from the trench.. but from the east you can see the other highrises in the museum district (and soon to be Montrose).

If autocorrect wrote the wrong word, why wouldn't you just fix it without pointing it out and asking for forgiveness all in the same post?   <_<

Doesn't make sense.

Houstonians need to stop judging architecture via drive bys.

What are you talking about? I was just pointing out that I guess he's right to an extent, if you were coming from the west this project would be the first thing you see coming out of the trench.. But so what?

I have no idea what I am taking about.

That's why I said we will have to wait and see.

I certainly love the building. Dunno yet if I like where it will be plopped

Simple. It's a conspiracy.

Anything going on here? A few months ago I was told demolition would begin in February or March.

Rode by the other day. If it's some sort of old house that's being torn down for this, then we are all systems go. They are gutting the inside at the moment.

Wow. That is gorgeous. Do you think it'll block the downtown views from the Museum Tower? Kind of looks like it.

It'll likely be finished before the crane is up at the famous Ashby Tower of Terror.

I'd take something being built on the Astroworld site. Turn the Astrodome into a convention space and add a big hotel to support it.

Getting back to topic, this complex looks excellent.

Aaaaand I just realized Luminare's comment might have been in reference to the 'Tower of Terror' as a ride, lol.

Maybe I'm just too hopeful that site will be redeveloped into something more than a parking lot for the Rodeo.

I've long thought this immediate area was ripe for some more of these buildings.  The proximity to Montrose and the Museum District cannot be ignored.  Though to be honest I almost wish some more of these would crop up along the north and east sides of Herman Park.
