nativehoustonion
The Houston Business Journal said at 7pm tonight. We are going over there to see all the trucks pouring the foundation. We will park by La'Carfe and walk over and go to Flying Saucer have some beers!

Popular Post mlyoung83
I had the privilege today of talking to the president of Western Concrete pumping. He says rebar is officially 9ft deep. 14,000 yards of concrete is being brought in tonight as well. Six pumping trucks working, four more on standby at the site. On to the show: First truck rolling in on the North side: Setting up: For this one truck, they had to pump the concrete to the pumping truck. 10 trucks!!! Meeting before the fun begins. Two concrete trucks per pumper. Trucks lining up for the north side pumpers. Night time.

102IAHexpress
The Hines/609 people are having a function right now at the Rice Lofts ballroom. Seems like a concrete pouring party. Might be a good time for a HAIF'er to crash it and pick their brains.

democide
Thank you, so has there ever been a case when the poured concrete did not meet the minimal standards? You'll have to do it all over if that's the case, correct?

You'll have to do it all over if that's the case, correct? It happens. Concrete suppliers and tradespeople are no more perfect than anyone else. The fix if specs aren't met is very situational. It doesn't necessarily involve hammering it all out and starting from scratch, though it can.

brijonmang
This is probably one of the most documented concrete pours in Houston history... Looking at the webcam, it seems as though they are covering up the concrete with plywood or dirt...can't really tell since the webcam images aren't as nice as all of yours. Helps cure it better and regulates temperature at the top so the sun doesnt bake it as much.
