New Agricultural Building Approved

Recommended Posts

Texas A&M's agricultural arm is going to get pumped up, and even more construction is coming to campus.

The System Board of Regents have signed off on $51 million worth of construction on land just northwest of Reed Arena off John Kimbrough Boulevard near Discovery Drive. In total -- including revenue financing

system debt proceeds, investment earnings, gifts and indirect costs -- the project will cost an estimated $62.4 million.

A five-story agriculture headquarters building and visitors center will be constructed in order to bring together all the ag elements of A&M in one location. It will be 168,000 square feet.

Construction is slated to begin in the next few months, with officials hopeful for completion in 2011.
