Vertigo58
The American Architect was a periodical on architecture and building published in the US during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You have to see these images to believe it. Just turn the pages. If only they could be reproduced today. Probably can? http ://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/webbi...rial?id=amarch

dbigtex56
Good post, Vertigo.Another source for 19th century renderings and plans is Godey's Lady's Book, which was popular in the mid-19th century. Each month a different plan was published, "Designed expressly for Godey's Lady's Book by Isaac H. Hobbs, Architect, Philadelphia."
Vertigo58
Good post, Vertigo.Another source for 19th century renderings and plans is Godey's Lady's Book, which was popular in the mid-19th century. Each month a different plan was published, "Designed expressly for Godey's Lady's Book by Isaac H. Hobbs, Architect, Philadelphia." and here goes another plug. Dover Publishing has a vast array of books on the very subject. http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/nsea...ry=architecture and Mitchell Publishing: http://www.mitchellspublications.com/rep/a...r/vca/index.htm
