midtownuser
I noticed a new variance request sign in front of a old building off Chenevert and Hadley St. http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&...1&encType=1 any idea what is going on?
Mr. Chenevert
Last weekend I wrote down the variance #, but have since lost the piece of paper I scribled it on.Has anyone looked up what the request is for? This is the old electric supply building that has been boarded up for years. It could be a great bar or restaurant. Then again, it could just as easily be knocked down and used for more townhomes.

Mr. Chenevert
I look at this as a positive sign. At least they are going to restore the building rather than tear it down for more townhomes.Any sort of retail will be welcomed around here... Mr. Chenevert
The permit for the building is to change retail to residential. They cleared the inside out. Its one large space with all exposed brick and metal rafter flat roof. They have done some more work outside including putting industrial looking gutters up on the front fascade. This could be a very cool looking loft.
