rapturematt Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I thought Assistant DA Kelly Siegler said that? Quote
Vertigo58 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Heard this morning on News 11, cracked me up! Quote
ricco67 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I can't believe she would put them in the same class of Tin Foil hat people. Maybe they're too happy for her taste?Maybe she needs some happy blue pills. Quote
cottonmather0 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 At the risk of getting some tomatoes thrown, I kind of see her point. Most people who go to that church are indeed a little bit weird. Maybe it's a Methodist thing. Quote
ricco67 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I might toss one at you.Unless you're worshiping the corpse of an alien and waiting for a spaceship (one group already disbanded several year back with a kool-aid drink), then I believe all churches a pass and religion shouldn't come into play, unless they don't believe in the Death Penalty. Vertigo58 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 How can we forget Bo and Peep? The mysterious two. Gotta love the guy. Even funnier is he worked at Jones Hall for a short time. Wait, where's my Nike's? Quote
MidtownCoog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Attorneys don't have to cite a reason for not wanting you on a jury. "I don't like him" is reason enough.Do these Lakewood people wear name tags? Does the Asst DA ask if you go to church?I burn all my jury summons so I would not know ;-) Quote
rapturematt Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Regardless, I think it is ridicules that someone in that position would ever say something like that. I thought it was supposed to be a jury of your peers. What if the accused went to Lakewood or committed a crime against a Lakewood member?I have been to Lakewood and love all of the music that their worship leader, Isreal Houghton, writes. Even though I would not call it my home church, I would never say they are weird. To be honest, it just kinda freaked me out that I was going to church in the "Summit". Quote

Rather, it's the personalities that Lakewood attracts. I think that's what the comment at hand was referring to. Quote
