JNS Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Hi. I'm needing to get some foundation repair done and was wanting comments (pro or con) regarding the Cable-Lock system. I was thinking of using Atlas Foundation for the job. Other candidate would be Du-West, but they use a different system. Thanks,Jeff Quote
musicman Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 the problem isn't what type of system they use but rather whether they have a structural engineer to determine the exact problem and where the fix needs to be done, if needed. Quote

Ok, maybe not a joke, but not necessary. I refuse to pay a company like Atlas to hire Nolan Ryan to do commercials for them. Give me a company with a small, long time employed crew that doesn't cut corners any day.If it were me, I'd toss out the phone book and talk to some realtors in your area for a referral.flipperthe problem isn't what type of system they use but rather whether they have a structural engineer to determine the exact problem and where the fix needs to be done, if needed.Problem with that is you can have 5 engineers come out and give you 5 different "solutions".flipper Quote

I did have an independent engineer come out and as a result probably will only do one section even though the foundation companies said, as I figured they would, that I need more. I'd forgotten that Ryan had done commercials for them, but that aside, I thought they were considered to be reputable, but maybe not. Olshan uses the same system, but I thought Atlas may be was a little better. Just a gut feeling, I guess. I may look a little closer at DU-West and also try your recommendation of checking with realtors.Jeff Quote
