musicman
anyone know where to buy unfaced (one with no vapor barrier) r-19 or r-25 insulation that is 23" wide? i've been two 2 depots and 2 lowes and no luck. i did find 15" BUT i figured that would take more work to install. cwrm4
I don't think they make it. Most of the unfaced rolls now are R-30 also (the bats are R-19 or R-25).About a month ago I did the overlay in my attic with unfaced R-30 15" wide x 25' long. I think 24" wide would be too bulky too handle, espeically if you have a complex/gabled roof. I got the insulation at Lowe's.I have about 10 rolls left over (enough for 300+ sq ft). PM if you are interested, and I'll cut you a deal.

cwrm4
I should have said "I don't think you can get it". I looked at both the big box places and independent suppliers (e.g. Montalbano's) and you could only get the rolls in R-30 15" wide. Which, of course, I have for sale...Don't underestimate how much of a p-i-t-a it is to move around and cut those rolls in an attic in the summer! The best thing to cut the insulation with is garden shears, btw.
