The New Juniper
I have heard through numerous people that Palisade Palms is 100% sold. Why is there nothing happening at the site? I have also heard that Emerald by the Sea has contracts at the Title Company and a waiting list several hundred people long. Demand in Galveston????? I, for one, am shocked and pleased to see it. The New Juniper
Palisade Palms has the model there. Very, very impressive. I heard models such as that one cost $150K....
MelaineA
Palisade Palms has not broken ground yet because current Lender Practice is to sell 50% of the units. They believe they will break ground before the end of the year.

kjb434
This is great news for Galveston. I think the Island has really turned the corner and is becoming a vacation destination. Maybe not a tourist mecca, but at least a vacation for Texans. Either way they are still spending money down there to boost the economy. editor
I know this sounds more stupid than usual, but I'm really proud of Galveston. Hopefully this will be the start of great things, and possibly the founding of a New Miami.
Guest danax
No, it doesn't sound stupid at all. I have the same expectations/bafflement as to why Galveston isn't already a happening place. It's like it gets the same bad rap Houston does...oh, the beaches suck, jellyfish, too many ghetto people still hangin around chuggin 40s..etc,etc. Thus, the demand just hasn't been there yet for major develpments. So maybe this development will start something going there. And no, please, no casinos. editor
Sounds like great news. I wouldn't owrry too much about who is buying the units, as long as they get sold. Heck, I know of a few skyscrapers that are always almost empty simply because the people who own them have seasonal homes elsewhere. If you're the sort of person who buys a penthouse on Galveston, you might also be the sort of person who only enjoys it in November and February, when the weather is at its best. NeveroddoreveN
Supposedly Beyonce Knowles bought one for her family and friends when they visit. I'm sure it's going to take that type of money to buy one of those spots...
