There was a place on Bryan Pkwy. called Werman's where I had my first chicken fried steak. It's probably still the best I've ever had.

For some strange reason I also miss eating in the diner in Woolworth's downtown. My grandparents owned the furniture store across the street and we would sometimes go over there for a quick lunch.

do you know if any others are planned in the houston area?

i like steak 'n shake...not necessarily the food, more the place itself.  and it would be cool to be able to go to it other than when i go out of town...

The Tomball location is the only one I know of right now. I will let you know if I hear of any more, though.

A Steak 'n Shake is going to open in Tomball on F.M. 2920 sometime soon. My company is doing the engineering for the shopping center that it's going to be in.
