I stopped in at Moon Tower Inn last night and had a spicy buffalo sausage and a few lonestar beers. This is a new Dive Bar that opened about a month ago and is located at 3004 Canal.

The menu includes 10+ sausage varieties made from wild game (venison, buffalo, wild board, duck, chicken, lamb, rabbit, and elk). They also have a vegetarian style sausage. The buffalo sausage I had was very delicious.

I like their motto: Damn Good Food, Cold Ass Beer.

I have always enjoyed Mandola's Deli, but it's an institution that everyone knows about. So here is something y'all may not know: The Mandola's purchased the yellow house-turned-day-labor property next door to the deli on Leeland, and are mulling over what to do with it. So if all goes as planned, we may have another place to try.

Mandola's recently applied for a liquor license. They are also looking at expanding their hours and opening an outdoor patio area.
