    The Menil Collection is a museum and neighborhood of art spanning 30 acres in the heart of Houston, Texas. Urbano Architects was honored to be selected as Architect for the design of new accessory dwelling units (ADU) at the rear of existing historic bungalow sites. The design process initiated with an extensive site analysis that inspired us in conceptualizing accessory dwelling units that would be respectful of scale, of its time, subtle and have some connectivity to the neighborhood. Urbano also conducted a series of interviews of ADU residents for a thorough understanding of important functional aspects of a good layout. The main social spaces of the units were strategically placed at the corner facing driveways, resulting in magnificent views of the museum buildings.

    Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business will host a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 112,000-square-foot building designed to accommodate unprecedented growth at the school and the evolving needs of the community.

    The new structure will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, modern office spaces and vibrant amenities such as dining areas, open gathering spaces and facilities for private events. The building will seamlessly integrate with McNair Hall — the current home of Rice Business — enhancing the campus environment and continuing to cultivate a collaborative culture.

    The Founders District Master Plan builds off the success of an entrepreneurial hub in suburban Houston, Texas. The client group seeks to expand on its success and create an urban mixed use campus that emphasizes quality of place in order to attract residents, visitors and businesses. The master plan is organized around a spine of water that will run through the center of the site with the buildings placed around this feature. A 150,000 SF office building, a 350 unit multifamily building, and 15,000 SF of retail is included in Phase 1.

    The newest office building on Austin’s most expensive street is racking up tenants.

    O’Melveny & Myers LLP leased 28,000 square feet in The Republic office tower on Fourth Street, which is set to open in mid-2025, according to an April 29 announcement. The global law firm joins two other tenants, Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Vista Equity Partners, to push the tower to nearly 50% pre-leased....
