  1. A new low income govt housing is suppose to go up across from the main entrance to windrose on Fm 2920. I know a bunch of people who are trying to write and protest.

The builder gets 1.9 million in tax credit provided to builders for building at risk communities which is defined as communites that were affected by Ike.

They are going to be called Gosling Oak Apts.

  2. Oh a home seller I imagine. Sales must be slow. <_<

Alot of homebuyers move from other states and I do not think everyone thinks they are going to look at a map of the tracks. lol!!. It is the responsibility of the builder to disclose because they are not selling a $1.00 item, they are selling a $100,000+ item. Thats why the good builders stay away from mini subdivisions that are popping up in the area. It is usually the not so good builders who make boxed homes that tend to choose the area which is cheap.

Yes, homeowners should certainly do their homework but most just look at area schools and not a map of railtracks or see if a grand parkway is going up unless there is alot of info on it.

Back to original OP. Unless enjoy listening to trains at all times of the day and "especially at midnight" than this is the place for you.

Feel sorry? Why? Shouldn't a buyer do his/her homework and take everything into consideration prior to purchase?

This may be way off topic but the mindset that "we must protect everyone" has gotten out of hand in this country. THE UNITED STATES OF ENTITLEMENT.

Why is it the builders responsiblity to inform buyers of a train track that's outside the neighborhood? Now I'm not saying the builders shouldn't inform the buyers (I actually do); I'm just wondering why it's not the fault of the buyers who live in these neighborhoods? Didn't these home buyers CHOOSE to purchase a home in these neighborhoods?

Do your homework, look at the fine print, protect yourself. Don't throw a pity-party because someone is too ignorant or lazy to have some forethought for the most expensive purchase in their life.

  3. If you enjoy really really really really loud trains in the middle of the night than this subdivision is for you. Both my kids went to Hildebrandt next to the tracks and the subdivision and the trains came in all times of the day. I live in Windrose and can still hear the loud train horns at 2 am at night so imagine how loud it would living in North Hampton right where the train comes by.

I really feel sorry for all the subdivisions popping up in that area because I am sure the builders do not mention it to the homebuyers.

  4. I found out today that the Taco Cabana that was supposed to go in at the 2920(west of Kuykendahl) location has been canceled. The CVS store that was going to go in at 2920 and Alvin Klein has also backed out. Why is this area so slow to develop? 24 hour fitness, J.C. Penney, Pets Mart, and Michael's all had plans to come to this area and backed out. I wonder if it has to do with the pending Grand Parkway.

YUP!!! the grand parkway is the #1 reason. Think of Beltway 8, how many restaurants are on the exits? hardly any!! because you pay to get on and do not want to get off just to get some food unlike a regular freeway.

  5. I went there once and the prices were high for the food you got so I can understand why it closed down. I enjoy Buffalo Wild Wings. We go there quite often. I am looking forward to Schlotzkys. I do wish that Taco Cabana do not scrap their plans to come across from Denny's. I also never see any cars at Denny's. Looks like they are hanging on also. They do not to mail out coupons or print coupons like Ihop does.

  6. Thats not good about Taco Cabana. We need more mexican restaurants in this area or even a good chinese restaurant(even though one is opening in the Kroger shopping center next to the nail store). Spring Creek is a family owned so that is why it will come sooner like the strip malls which are not corporate owned so they go up quicker and than they just rent them out for profit since it is individuals who own those strip malls.

I am trying to figure out what is going in front of Lowes in that empty area across from Springbrook. Someone mentioned Burger King but there is already one on Louetta so that would not make sense.

I also heard awhile back that they were trying to do an indoor flea market style in that empty center across lowes that has fence around it but that was 6 months ago looks like nothing every happened.

Looks like Schlotzkys should open in a few weeks.
