i think they might have put up the steel frames for the sky bridge this weekend. at least that is what it looks like from my window.

There has been some speculation in the past about whether Hess (nee Discovery) Tower would be connected to the downtown skywalk/tunnel system, and if connected, would it be through 5 Houston Center or One Park Place.

I was riding bike around downtown today and it is now pretty clear that Hess Tower will indeed be connected via skywalk through 5 Houston Center. Sorry, I have no pic. 5 Houston Center has a hole cut in its side directly opposite a spot in Hess Tower that has a sky-walk-shaped opening in the facade.

That'd be awesome if that ever came to fruition. I have a townhome in the area that I would love to easily rent out in the future.

But a business center would be just as equally nice. I just hope that whoever develops the project (or any project there) implements a grid like system for traffic in and out of the area. Some of the major streets there get congested in the mornings and especially during events at reliant.

Any city planners out there listening?

That looks like it would be a sweet college campus.

Also someone had graffitied one of the signs prior to them putting up the rodeo parking signs. they'll probably have to reorder another one or they're just rethinking putting up the sign back up for awhile.

I think they were up 2 days...before they put up "RODEO PARKING!" then it's been blank and black sine.

i like the idea of the Astrodome Studios. i live around this area and it would be great to call this are the "Entertainment District".....granted---hopefully nothing too sleazy pops up. We have the Museum District, The Medical Center, Downtown, Uptown, Midtown...it would be nice to tell people i live someplace more recognizable than "just south of reliant"
