I am not sure if an actual mall will ever come to Katy. I use the Memorial City & Galleria malls, and I am starting to think that we are too close to memorial City & Town & Country Village that there may not be a mall in our near future.
I recently moved here and many of the people that are Katy "natives" have said that there has been a talk of a mall for many many years and they don't believe in a mall anymore until they see it.
I am building a house here too, that I plan on living in for a long time, so I hope we do get one. I am giving it at the most 5 years, then I'm out if nothing happens. That also goes for the lack of retail developments we have. Look at the Woodlands & Sugarland, what happened to Katy? I guess we have a good school district, right? ha

I go to Azur Salon - James Philips is the BEST! They cut men's hair of couse, but I believe it is in the $30 - $35 range.
My husband has gone to Hip Clips on Mason near the new Fiesta and they do a pretty good job. I think they are in the $10-$15 range.

I would love to see Landmark Theaters open out here, but I doubt there is enough interest in independant films around here to support it.
Agreed, but it would be nice.
The Alamo Drafthouse, on Mason, is nice, but very old and it would be great to have a new Studio Movie Grill or even Alamo Drafthouse open up along Grand Parkway.

I grew up going to that Toys R' Us, it need a makeover or a new location. The shopping center in front of the Toys R' Us has been empty for a while now. I wonder if they will just tear it down and the toy store and put something else there.

I don't consider Katy Mills similar to Memorial City, it is more of an outlet mall. I would like to see a Macys or Dillards or a large department store.
Most of the "strip malls" we have are the typical nail salon, dry cleaner, deli style restaurant (subway/quiznos/etc), hair salon and so on. If no mall at least we can get some better dining options out here. I know they are slowly coming in...I don't want another Chili's!
