  1. I went about a month ago and was pretty disappointed. The bar itself is tiny and the bartenders were pretty awful. It was impossible to get a drink. And the place smells really, really bad. I'm guessing that's something that will be tough to solve due to the location right on the Bayou.

I probably won't be back. I like the Midtown location much better.

I heard the same thing...we actually drove by and had plans of stopping in....but we were too scared to get out of our car :o

Goog luck down there ........ we are staying in Midtown!

  2. My husband and I have been to Beavers quite often since the beginning. We have a love/hate relationship with them lately since they keep making poor decisions (just our opinion).

It really started off with a bang and seems to just keep going downhill. For instance, prices go higher while servings seem to shrink.

Also quality in some cases has deteriorated.

Their sweet potato fries are almost always soggy these days. Not to mention for some reason one of their best brunch foods is now being served with Fritos instead of cornbread, the Beaver pie.

I will say tho they do have some great dishes... hope they stay and don't ditch those off the menu too. :)

  3. Do you think the current property could be salvaged? Lets say there was a potential tenant with ideas of a new restaurant. Would Felix lease the space out? I like the market...with Dolce Vita, Katz, Indika, Sorrento, La Strada, Ruggles, etc. Becoming quite the culinary block.

Apologies to all of the Felix faithful...but there seem to be multiple reasons why they didn't survive (granted they made it longer than most!) Having never been there...I can't comment.

Yes...the property could definetly be salvaged.....the right tenant can make that space...
