  1. How optimistic. I just thought having some more restaurants and shops close to home would be convenient...geez. Hooray for the Mix at Midtown. I doubt I'll ever go there so why would I move on to it?

Totally agree... why do people go on here just to complain about developments that they do not own and cannot do anything about? And why would I drive 30 miles to Midtown instead of driving a couple of miles to a "craptastic" center?

  2. Enough already with the complaining. Fact: A Walmart is opening up soon at FM 1093 and Grand Parkway. "Yeah" for those who shop there and "There's nothing you can do about it" for those who don't like the chain. Just don't shop there... you don't have to list a million reasons why you are boycotting the chain. I personally like Super Target better but I'm not going to quote stats on here about how evil Walmart is and bore everyone.

So... enough with the complaining. Shop or don't shop at Walmart... no one cares. If you feel so strongly about the land development in Katy, you can always buy and develope the land yourself. I'm done... thanks.

  3. cool! i think Potbelly is pretty good. do you think it will hurt panera bread's business a lot though?

I LOVE Potbelly... and I think it's better than Panera Bread (IMHO). I think both Potbelly and Panera Bread will do fine. I also saw on a site plan for La Centerra that a Which Wich is coming soon there. I'm happy to see some of my favorite lunch spots are coming to Katy (I work near Greenway Plaza).

  4. For all of you that wanted a Buffalo Wild Wings in South Katy... YOU GOT YOUR WISH!

Check out the new tenant list for The Shops at Bella Terra!

    Buffalo Wild Wings

    Best Buy

    Taco Cabana

    Quiznos

    Sushi Hana

    with more available pad sites

And Walmart has been pushed back till September 2008.

I know I'm excited! Maybe not so much for the soon-to-be WORSE traffic at 99 & 1093. Oh well, at least I can get there the back way :D !

  5. Uhhh, because it's the only place in Katy that somewhat resembles a bar, and my wife wanted to go have a drink or two aside from beer. Of course the corporate heads at Bakers street knew that it's far more profitable to serve liquor in an "English pub", so they did something crazy... They actually decided to serve mixed drinks and shots.

Edit: If I want to go to a real pub I'll head to Gingermans.

I understand that they serve other drinks besides beer there, but I don't see the point in complaining about how bad the margaritas are there when that is not what people go there for. Granted, it's the only game in town, but give the place a chance... especially on something they probably only serve a handful times a night, if that. "worst tasting margarita on the planet. Kind of like suckin back some Pinesol" is pretty harsh.

And The Ginger Man is a cool pub, you're right on that.

  6. The wife and I went to Bakers Street Saturday night, and it was packed. In fact it was packed from about 8:00 pm until we left at 11:30. However, with this new found success comesthe worst tasting margarita on the planet. Kind of like suckin back some Pinesol.

My husband and I have been to the Baker Street in Sugar Land and the one in Rice Village many times... my only question "Why are you drinking margarita's in an English Pub?" ;)

  7. Buffalo Wild Wings would be great! Maybe I should email them :D ! As a married couple in their late 20's... there are not a lot of places in Katy to just hang out and have a few drinks. My husband and I were so happy when Baker Street opened. Great ideas!

  8. do you guys think that 28,000 suare feet is big enough for a movie theater? or do you think it will be a different type of theater going in?

I looked up some information and a 30,000 square feet theatre is about 10 screens/stadium seating. That is hardly enough for South Katy! Wish the plans to open a theatre at The Shops at Bella Terra went through -_- .

  9. I know a lot of people in Katy are wanting certain restaurants to come to the Katy area. I recently wrote an email to one of my son's favorite restaurants... and they actually wrote me back! They said that they were very interested in the Katy area but had to wait for a decision from corporate. She also said that there are a lot of factors that go in opening a restaurant in the 'burbs... population/demographic/the normal stuff.

I think if enough people write/email these restaurants maybe they will eventually make their way out here. I just went to their website and went to the contact us page.

What are some restaurants you want in Katy?
