In my opinion, this is another reason to buy used houses. You are pretty assured to pay the fair market value. And thus keep your taxes down even when it appreciates.

Good point. Any other reasons you can think of to buy used? We're considering moving and unsure whether to buy used or new. I do like being able to see what the completed neighborhood looks like. But many of the used homes we've looked I've found kind of icky...besides featuring other people's decorating choices, they sometimes have weird smells or pet odors, and usually the floors and walls are anywhere from slightly to very beat up. Any thoughts from others who have deliberated this choice?

My kids go/went to The Learning Center (at Living Word Lutheran Church) It is at Mason & Westheimer Parkway. They even have, if you are interested, a private kindergarten.

I think there are plenty of church preschools in Cinco to choose from. But Seven Meadows is mainly just houses and the strip center at HEB & Home Depot.

I believe The Learning Center is the only (full-time) church daycare in the area. My kids go there and we like it pretty well. They no longer have private kindergarten, but they said they may someday consider offering it again.

There are several churches with some great mother's day out (part-time) programs; see Katy Magazine link listed in above post. Pre-enrollment for 08-09 at most churches has already passed (usually happens in February), but you might call around and see about getting on some wait lists.
