  1. As for this whole canyon gate business, far from ghetto. I went to high school here and once heard someone say "theres gates to keep them in." Woo for having that cinco ranch mentallity.

and the speed bumps at the Avalon suck! I know a couple of people in there and from what I understand they are still around basically because of one man who really hates crazy teen drivers, who doesnt? I can understand speed bumps in river oaks, people can drive through there to get from one major street to another or even in falcon point because of people cutting through to the mall. But in the Avalon? Theres no point in cutting through there and even if someone wanted to theres already gates. Someone needs to catch up with the rest of the suburbs and just teach their kids not to play in the street, or watch them like everyone else? These are only an inconvience to most of the people living there. Ive seen people drive through the grass to avoid them or use the back gate when they live in the front, just so they dont have to deal with the speed bumps. I guess that serves the purpose of keeping too many from going through your street, but its people who live there not random outsiders. Seems like you would realize your house is at the main entrance gate that everyone is going to use before you bought there...

sorry to ramble, i dont even live there and they bug me this much... maybe thats the point? or maybe they bug the residents even more? If only I got as worked up about my school work as i do about these three little speed bumps...

Lake.jpg Out on prairie as flat as a polished dining room table, where he has no river or even rivulet to dam, Commissioner Steve Radack intends to dig a hole and build a 500-acre lake that will teem with sportfish and lure anglers from afar.

  3. its morton ranch... something about the original morton family not being happy about the high school being built on their land... whatever I had never heard anything about it so I looked on wikipedia. Im sure theres a lot of claims of other schools being haunted though. I went to Katy most of high school, but graduated from cinco last year.

  4. so ive been searching through this forum looking for proof that I'm not crazy, but can't find what Im looking for. Ok Memorial City Mall used to have a really big play place above where the food court is now... this would have been early 90s before it went downhill then revived... no not exhilarama or whatever.. before that. Im only 18 and me and some friends were talking about childhood and I mentioned this and they basicly think im insane.

  5. They are the same design by PBK architects, cinco was the first with that layout...but the facads of SL and MR were changed slighty to give them their "own character." My favorite is the Seven Lakes front by far, very classic. I wonder if the next high school will follow the same design or be a new one. Id love to see something new, but that would be costly. The next high school and stadium are proposed to be on the same lot opening in 2012, over by that big 90 degree curve in katy gaston. I can't wait to see plans for the stadium you know Katyisd is going to try to Rival that Cypress Berry Center, which asthleticly looks amazing but I hear has a couple air flow and sound problems.
