  1. My first gig was at Bull 'N Anchor oyster bar.

My mom was a regular at the candle shop but said Cromwell's felt like a funeral parlor.

A fake bell tower was added to the Rumpleheimer's building and my friends and I liked to climb up in there.

No one has mentioned Kevin Perry's Guitar Shop, his second location was tucked away next to Village Inn Pizza Parlor and behind the Bull 'N Anchor. He is still one of the area's best luthiers and is now out on the north part of Hwy 6 with an original employee...

  2. Marini's Empanada House on Westheimer.

Udder Delight Creamery next to Marini's - we always said one could walk back and forth between the two, eating a little at each, until "bloated to critical mass."

I had my first musical gigs at The Bull And Anchor in Westbury Square, but earlier in life was inspired by the live bands at Village Inn.

    Cheese Man at Westbury Square.

    Marini's Empanada House on Richmond.

Yan Sushi on Holcombe in an old JIB box - they moved to Elgin and are now in Sugar Land, but no drive-thru sushi boxes!

    Marini's Empanada House on Hillcroft.

Walkabout Cafe on Hillcroft, later Richmond around the corner.

Original Luke's Hamburgers (Luke Mizell gave it to Annie in the divorce), heck, *any* Luke's.

Marini's Empanada House on Westheimer again, next to Ninfa's by the House Of Pies. *sigh*

GladThey'reStillHere list: Hot Bagels (aka Original New York Bagels), Bellaire Broiler Burger, and I need to get over to Christie's!

  3. Anybody else have Dr Stuart Cohen as their pediatrician? I remember a few polio sugar cubes and other vaccinations in his office back in the 60's and early 70's

    Yep, Cohan.

Both of my kids (now 18 and 13), my wife and her brother.

    Good old no-nonsense family medicine.

His daughter Caryn has the practice now, at Bellaire Blvd at Loop 610.

  4. Something tells me the Super Slide won't be included in the final price...but that's a whole 'nother thread!

A thread that will include the Super Slide, the "Clock of Texas" automatronical diorama in Sharpstown Shopping Center (I learned the Six Flags from that thing),

    The Pink Poodle pet salon,

    and McIntyre's TV shop.

This one seems to have everything else!
