  1. the GUM-HND flight will be operated by a single 767-400 (20/236 configuration), with the EWR-HND proposed for 777 service. With 2 additonal 777 coming online this year, rearanging of the route planning can be done to accomodate. Although 777 cycles will be very limited on ground time. IAH-AMS will be downgraded to a 764 permanently as well, so there is some spare 777 flight time on top of the additional 2 CO is getting.

  2. OMG......we better not hurt anyones feelings!!!!

.......on another note..........this will not be finished by the timeline that METRO seems to think they are going to be done. They have done hardly anything since they "broke ground". And where they have done work, is not even busy/poplulated in comparison to further down Harrisburg where there is more traffic, more business. Its going to be a mess for rhte next 3-4 years to finish this.

  3. I don't think light rail in general works, though the one place it does is Portland, OR. The reason it works there is that connects places that actually need to be connected, the airport with the city, the suburban areas with downtown, etc.

what a great idea!!! Its obvious that the planners in Portland and other cities went to college...............METRO got their G.E.D. and ran with it!!

  4. You know what would be great to lay down those HOV lanes? That's right....

But that would mean that it would be better utilized by more individuals, and would even mean that it could be utilized in both directions, 7 days a week, with the possibility of having people pay to use it!!!!!!!! :o

  5. You and others keep harping on the benefit of bidirectional commuter transit and I keep on explaining why the benefit of bidirectionality is severely limited. Is this just a rhetorical device or were you ever planning a rebuttal?

serverly limited how? The current state of our HOV lanes are severly limited and a waste of space if its limited to only a few individuals riding in a bus, service is only used for 10 hours in a day.........

  6. I still have a hard time believing that people would think a line down the middle of 45 would not be beneficial. Its use would far exceed that of the current HOV lanes a few hours a day..........in one direction............

  7. Well...it may not be as awesome as first thought. It looks like the hotel would just be that 12-15 story building in the forefront and the tall building behind it is the existing building they're currently officed in.

Not a bad deal none the less, better than the parking lot that's currenly there.

although ike you say, not a "tall" building, but I'll take it!! 12-15 is not that bad.

  8. Light rail is not ideal for P&R replacement. It costs more, not only in massive capital outlays but in terms of operating costs, travels at the same speed, displaces multi-occupant vehicles into the general lanes and removes the incentive to carpool, cannot serve multiple urban destinations without requiring transfers along indirect routes, and is inflexible to the constantly-changing geography of employment in our metropolitan area.

It would be far more advisable to spend the funds on light rail projects elsewhere or implement a more efficient technology that allows travel at higher speeds along the same route or (preferably) one that is parallel and doesn't eliminate HOV capacity.

removing teh HOV lane would be best..........having rail down the middle would allow usage 7 days a week in both directions, and also lets those who choose not to carpool, the option of riding the train, thus continuing to eliminate vehicles, which will in turn ease congestion on 45.

  9. a sad day truly.............all this time of trying to figure out the university line, and now its not even included?? what a joke. Its also hard to believe that METRO still thinks they will have these lines running by 2012!!! I also dont like the idea of having the city having the say on the traffic signals and giving right-of-way to no one..........you simply wait based ont eh traffic light. going to take forever to get around town!!

  10. Is that one unoccupied unit for sale? Is the listing for it on har.com? Or was it taken down? I just noticed that one of the unoccupied townhomes at the development on Commerce was just put back into har.com's listings this past week. The townhouse was acquired by CitiQuest Properties after Waterhill went bankrupt. I'm not sure if CitiQuest is going to proceed with finishing the empty shell townhomes or not. Here is their website...

I'm not sure if they are acquiring the Waterhill complex on Navigation as well.

I'm not sure if it is listed on har.com. I saw that citiquest had purchased the commerce units, and I hope they do the same for us. I've not been informed who bought our property, but apparently some inverstors have.
