It would be nice if we would get a couple of the Papas restuarant....Its not fun driving to Papadeauxs at 6.30 at night for dinner.
Comparing books a million to Borders or Barnes and Noble is like comparing Taco Bell to Chuys.

I was in Baker Street the other night, and there were quite a few cougars and they were pretty wild.
Wait, are you talking about a different kind of cougar?

Baker St Pub in Lacenter has a nice area by the bar with darts and a couple of Golden tees. The restuarant on the other side is non smoking and you will see come kids in there before 9, but they ask all the minors to leave at 9 (I think, it may be 8) and turn it into a true bar with smoking everywhere. I would call it kid friendly, but not a family establishment.

You can't compare the starting salary to a store that is inside the loop to a store that is in the burbs twenty miles away. How much does the Kohls next door pay or the HEB down the road pay compared to the Wal-Mart on the Grand Parkway. You have to also take into account the 10% discount all Wal-mart employees get, the stock purchase programs, 401k, the health care benefits, the training opportunities, stock purchase program, and other benefits Wal-Mart offers.
Once again don't make accusations unless you have your facts straight! The reason for them not having enough employees hired and trained yet is due to Ike and not the wages. They lost a week or two of hiring and traing due to the storm.
Interesting you mention all the benifits attached with WalMart. I have read many articles regarding Walmart's hiring practices (and my brother-in-law is an assistant manager at a WalMart) and they are notorious for hiring very vew full time employess. The majority of their work force are part time employees so they do not have to pay for benifits such as health insurance and 401K matching programs.

For number 5, there isn't much different from most of the Cy-schools....All of them since Ridge have used the same floor plan. Ridge, Springs, Woods, and coming next year.....Lakes and Ranch.
Can't be ridge....that has a gabled roof, and as shown above, Ridge has the pyramid (as does springs).

To get back on subject.....its a Candlewood Suites....drove by it yesterday.
I can't beleive how close they got to the back property line with the building.....some of the poor office suites behind it have dissappeared.

There are a few places out here for those C level executives if you haven't noticed.
Cinco Ranch has gated sections with new homes being built, and some older ones, then you also have Lakes of Buckingham, Lakepointe Estates, Parklake Village, Winsdsor Park Lakes, Avalon at Seven Meadows, just to name a few.
And there is a ton of stuff that is 500K + that isn't gated all over the place. Plenty of options.
They may not have their own 10ft wall around it like River Oaks does, but is a great place for their kids!

the southeast corner of i-10 and 99 belongs to St Lukes I beleive. There was an article a long time ago in the Chronicle about this becomming a western medical hub with Memorial Hermann, St. Lukes (i think) Methodist, and Texas Childrens coming out. Add the expantion of Christus St. Catherine and it is definitely becoming another med center.
One of the hospitals is also supposed to have a level 1 trauma center, since there is only one in all of Houston now.

Interesting note....while Newland currently is the developer of both Cinco and Seven Meadows....it wasn't the original developer of Cinco. Much of what Cinco (planned commercial sites etc) was planned by American General at the very beginning. Newland is the 3rd developer to own it, and has been smart enough to continue it. In the beginning, Cinco wasn't even supposed to have as much residential as it does, I think I remember it being almost all office/commercial, but they changed when they stared because of the oil bust.
Do I think the Super Target center looks and functions much better than the Fry Rd Center? Yes. Do I think the Fry Rd stuff looks bad? Not really. I drove by this morning and noticed the Firestone building had a ton of brick on it....I was very surprised at that. (I usually take other routes to get home.)

From what I understand it is going to be a furniture showroom of some kind.

I just got my tax bill from KISD for 2007 and it reflected the 1.5226 number.

infojunkie,
I really suggest talking to a realtor if you don't have one already. Cinco Ranch has many small communities inside of it with different builders that have different reputations and pricepoint. Falcon Ranch is a smaller community. Both are very similar. I would say in both areas you looked the 60% of cars in the driveway are normal. If resale values are important to you, just being in Cinco Ranch will help you sell it quicker and probably have a higher appreciation. However, you get more house for the same amount of money in Falcon Ranch. It just depends on what you are looking for.
I have friends that live in both, and have clients buy and sell in both. It really depends on price and what you are looking for and there are many options around the area.
If you have additional questions, feel free to message me and I will be happy to answer any you have.

Tuesday night the board voted and passed taxes for 2007-2008 at $1.5226 per $100 of valueation. That is always good news for us Katy Residents.

Falcon Point is a member of ClubCorp (www.clubcorp.com)
You had all three clubs right in Katy.
Falcon Point and Willow Fork are both true country clubs. (Have swimming pools and tennis courts as well as golf). they Dues and initiation fees are about the same. I was a member of Falcon point in the late 80's as a junior, and my boss is a member at Willow Fork. Both have had their greens redone in the last 2 years, with Willow Fork just completing theirs. If you are a begginning golfer, Willow Fork is more favorable, but is still challenging. Falcon Point has water on 16 of 18 holes, and you can lose a lot of golf balls to that water. I beleive that the Palmer Group now operates Willow Fork, but I can't guarantee that.
Meadowbrook Farms is semi-private, which means they are in the process of going private. It is just about golf currently. When I worked their 2 years ago, they were planning on expanding the dining room amenities, but it wasn't planned to have swimming or tennis (Thats what your HOA dues pay for out here!) It is designed by Greg Norman and is easily the best course out here. It is good for begginners because there are not a lot of forced carries, but when you move back it is a very difficult course. It is operated by Heritage Golf Group. Last I knew it was more expensive than the other 2. So it really depends on what you are looking for!

I believe that there is going to be a Lowes at Spring Green and 1093, in that development when they get it going.
