I'm sorry, but few airports in the WORLD offer an express train JUST to the airport. The few that do offer an express is because their airports are on an Island or in such a remote part of the city that nothing else exists.
Just did a short inventory of places that came to mind:
London (3! Gatwick Express, Heathrow Express, Stansted Express)
Vienna (Airport to City Centre express)
Tokyo (Tokyo Central to Narita Express)
Hong Kong (Airport Express from the island though it does 2 stops along the way).

Here's the project summary.
There are links on the left to some map images.
Here's a screencap of the relevent portion of the map.

I know a couple of a gay friends that go to Club Houston during the wee hours. Let's just say they don't go there to use the fitness equipment. They've tryed to tell me more, but I just cover up my ears and sing out la,la,la,la,la,la,la until they stop.
Yes, it is a combination gay club, bath and workout facility. I know folks who go to just workout and I've considered it because it's close to work. I also know folks who go for the "social activities". If you're not a gay male, you'll not be comfortable there.

how is the food at Neo Cafe? do you know the menu? hours of operation? thanks
The food is fine, if a bit pricey for an in-building commissary. Their lunchtime hours are 11 to 1 (specials of the day from the kitchen) though the grill is open, I think from 10-2. Burgers, grilled chicken and a selection of prepared sandwiches on baguettes (ham, turkey, tuna, roast beef and the like). Selection is iffy most days -- they're not really a commercial operation.

I work for one of the tenants in the HCC building across the street. As far as I can tell, the CVS was built for the residents living east and north along Elgin. A sandwich shop in there would be very welcome as the only thing in the HCC building is cafe Neo, staffed by HCC culinary arts students. Cali is just across the street to the west but something like a Subway would do a bang-up business, at least for the lunchtime crowd.
There is a Subway at Holman but walking there can be scary at times.

I thought south of Washington and North of Memorial described the area known as "Rice Military" (at least west of Shepherd).
I just bought a place near Nett & Moy and found out that north of Washington in that area isn't in R-M (by the civic club's bylaws definition.
Cottage Grove is north of I-10; R-M is south of Washington. What would this area (bounded by I-10, Washington, Wescott & Durham/Shepherd) be called?

My partner, the kids and I explored this last weekend. It looks very nice and I'll be glad when the pedestrian bridge opens.
I wonder how all that gorgeous landscaping will hold up to the first heavy stormwater event, though.

The Village on Memorial is actually a townhouse complex near Memorial Drive and Eldridge just to the west of the "Memorial Villages" (Bunker Hill in particular). They appear to be quite nice, though I am unfamiliar with them. See the link below:
I live in this area (Memorial Ashford Townhome complex) and like it. I'm not sure where the Katy school district boundary lies but west of Eldridge might be there.
The nice thing about the Village on Memorial is that it's next to Terry Hershey Park and within walking distances to the Westlake complex.

This is my neighborhood (I live just off Washington at Asbury) and I commute to the west side daily. The roundabout works well except for the odd occasion when someone who is clearly unfamiliar with them stops either on entering (when there's no traffic in it) or while they're in it to let somebody else enter (not realizing that whoever is in has the right-of-way).
Most people seem to navigate it pretty well. I rarely have to stop and I use my blinkers to signal the left turn when entering from the north (well trained after driving 18 months in the UK). Not that anybody else pays attention, mind.

Cool map. I like the quick access to land use summary and demographics.

I ran across this map of various "neighborhoods" within the loop. Being new to (what the map depicts as "Memorial"), I'm wondering if these are generally agreed upon boundaries.
And what's the story behind the name: "Rice Military" (not a Houston native, obviously)

In close proximity, then. But, both are apparently mixed-use, new urban-style developments.
-
So is this the same project (http://www.midwaycompanies.com/Projects/_/town_country.asp) discussed here or two adjacent projects, both mixed-use, lifestyle developments?

Just saying density is over rated.
It has it's benefits ... local pubs, cafes and theatres, the tube, ability to live without a car. It's all in the careful planning of where you live and work.
A little more pedestrian and bicycle friendliness would be an improvement but I doubt it will happen without a little more density.

No different than a Gay Cruise that Rosie Gorilla O'Donnel tried to start.
The gay family cruise actually happened, IIRC. They're planning another this year.
METRO Airport Direct Beats Expectations
in Traffic and Transportation

Wierdly, I'm not seeing anything on the Metro or Fly2Houston websites about this.
I did find a story in the Chronicle that lays this out.
I always wondered why they employed those high-end coaches for this route. I've used the 102 but it doubles the time to get to and from downtown.
I use the service often but then I work @ Elgin & Main so it's convenient for me to get to and from the airport from work. I'm sad to see it end.
